GreatStayed with kids
Ok, so I booked here 2 weeks after staying at the Virgin Edinburgh where my socks were literally knocked off at the service and property— so bear in mind I have no choice but compare the two.
I knew the location of this Virgin wouldn’t be in the center of much (unless you’re actively cutting records) and I was fine with that. Nice and quiet. The main difference for me was the level of service. Both the doormen were great!! The front desk lady, on the other hand, was very blasé and seemed annoyed. The rooms are nice, pretty much the exact same layout as Edinburgh room I had, but the minibar was FAR less impressive than Edinburgh and there was no cool retro phone with the YES! button on it. But I’d already gotten the drift this hotel wasn’t on par with that YES! level of Virgin service. Plus, we were charged an amenities fee to use the roof top pool (well worth it— the pool was DIVINE!!) but like, just add that in to the cost of the room?? And then when I tried to find the members only happy hour room, it was closed and I was told I’d have to just go to the bar (and after hanging out in the amazing happy hour room in Edinburgh this was a disappointment). Overall it felt kind of snooty?? I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe I just don’t like Nashville. Maybe they’re just understaffed?? Oh! And there’s no turn-down service at this Virgin, either. I’ll have to go try NOLA Virgin to see how it compares.

GreatStayed with family
The hotel itself was great, the rooms were spacious enough, the employees were kind and helpful. The food at the pool bar and café were good. The biggest problem is that this hotel should not advertise as being a hotel with a pool for their guest. They prioritize selling pool passes and daybeds to outside people that aren’t staying at the hotel. This leads to the pool being completely overcrowded and almost no where for hotel guests to enjoy the pool. There were only about 10 loungers available for hotel guests and none of the couches or other seating areas were available for hotel guests. On Sunday they took away the few loungers that were available to guests completely so that even in the morning before the pool party that made my room shake from the base, we couldn’t enjoy the pool. I like house music, but maybe not base so loud the room shakes for 8 hours. We were out for most of that time, but still it was a bit excessive. Other than the pool being essentially unavailable, the hotel was nice. But when you are on vacation in 90 degree weather and the hotel has a pool, I expect to be able to use it.

GreatStayed with pets
Clean room. Nice music and pool area. The Pool Club was nice. The hideaways were good to duck off and have quiet while also listening to music or singer that was singing. The hotel doesn't have access to a microwave for guests to heat up their food. As much as it costs to stay there, microwaves should be available to rent or at least one on the first floor to use. I had to eat cold food. Definitely not happy about that.
