Classic medium-sized hotel from the 1920s. Nice, slightly small rooms (but they upgraded me to a suite!!), very comfortable. Very attentive staff. Excellent location in beautiful Back Bay.

It’s old school and so are we! We loved the old world charm. We loved the noon check out even though we couldn’t stay that late. We never felt rushed that way. The property is very well maintained! They were even repainting the gold tipped fence finials in the rain the day we were there. The neighborhood is a gilded era dream. What we didn’t like:
1. We were “upgraded” to a larger room with a living area. We loved that! But after we turned in, we discovered that the bedroom backed to the elevator which made horrible sounds all night. We were too exhausted to demand a room change at that late hour.
2. The bathroom is tiny. You will feel like you are in Italy…if you like that.
3. The food options are non-existent in the hotel. Your choice is a very limited breakfast menu at Uni, a limited cafe outside, or the Harvard Club next door which is a production, requires the staff to make reservations, etc. Build in time to get something a few blocks away at a cafe. But if time is important, this will be a problem either way and it was for us.
4. They have a bar in the room for which they charge extravagant prices if you use something. Make sure they inspect it when you check in or you may be charged for something the last traveler took! We had them inspect it and sure enough. Something was already missing!
5. No on-site parking. They have only valet. Costs $65 and needs to be requested 30 minutes in advance to be sure you have a vehicle at the ready.

Really beautiful boutique hotel located with easy access to Newberry and the Commons, the Charles, and BU. Great (expensive) restaurant and bar. Staff was super attentive and responsive. Old google searches indicated they used to have complimentary passes to the neighboring gym. That was a bummer, and they should reinstitute that benefit . The room prices justify that perk for a property that doesn't have room for a gym.

Amazing location with beautiful and clean rooms! Short walk to the iconic Newbury Street, which is filled with great shops and restaurants. If you’re a walker than it is a nice walk to Boston Common and MIT. The staff was so helpful with any questions or concerns we had. The continental breakfast was also lovely!
