We got the room for a very cheap price at around $310 for 2 nights after discount. The room needed maintenance as the wooden furniture needed better maintenance as it was chipped and was missing the cupboard under the sink. The ambience and service was deserving of its 4/5 star status but the room itself was a little under expectations. But given the price, it was worth it. However location wise, yongpyeong resort had more slopes - even for beginners. There was only 1 beginner slope at the nearest ski slope to intercontinental (Alpensia). yongpyeong ski offers discounts for those staying at the yongpyeong resort (similarly, you can also get 30% discount at Alpensia when you stay at intercontinental). Nonetheless in my opinion, the overall atmosphere of intercontinental is still better than other resorts in the yongpyeong/Alpensia area.
