I stayed at West Philly Suites for a few nights and had a good experience overall. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the self check-in was simple once I got there. It’s definitely not a luxury hotel, but for the price I paid, I thought it was a solid value. The neighborhood is what you’d expect for this part of Philadelphia, but I didn’t have any issues during my stay. The Wi-Fi worked well, and it was easy to get around the city from the location. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay without spending a fortune, I’d stay here again. It met my expectations and was worth the money.

They aren’t even trying. This property was likely once well maintained, but they are doing little to keep it up. There no decor. Well, one picture in the kitchen. One drinking glass, one wine glass, so no effort to replace breakage. The toilet paper holder was broken, so no keeping the paper off the floor. The heat was 100+ degrees for Independence celebrations, and the drip pan of the enormous room air conditioner threatened to overflow its drip pan, so we had to decide to forgo coming back to a cool room while away. Lastly, the neighborhood is black only. We had trouble, our car was safe on the street for three days, and folks were friendly. The train station is close, the towels were safe. At least you know what you’re getting into.

I didn't end up staying at the accommodation. The listing on Expedia and the name of the room made it sound like this room was in a multi-unit hotel type accommodation. The neighborhood is a run down and there are no nearby restaurants or facilities. When I arrived at the unit it was clearly a remodeled residence converted to have several units. It was an older building with a door directly onto the street with no lobby or front desk. There is no manager or assistance on site. There was a keypad for entry on the front door which went directly onto the street and then another keypad for entry into the unit. Once inside the unit it was clean and nicely decorated although clearly an older dwelling. There was no deadbolt inside the unit and there was a back door to a small back yard with no dead bolt. There was no way to prevent anyone else with the code from entering the unit once inside. Given that the neighborhood was questionable and I was a single female traveler, I did not feel safe staying in the unit. The communication with the managers was clear and prompt. While they assured me that they have never had any safety issues, it was my choice not to stay.

The area is awful, do not expect to feel safe in the area. Pictures are not actual of the area and the pictures need to be updated of the apartment. We left early , afraid to get out of my car at night. Nothing like being stared at and unwelcome . Stay forty eight street and closer to actual City. Should have listened to the travel center individual by the liberty bell, first thing she said was not a great area and we barely even started to tour the area at that point. Beware of your surroundings in that location. Wish I took photos to show everyone.

We were really disappointed with our stay and have not been able to get a resolution to our concerns despite proactively reaching out to the booking team. Our original reservation was modified without notice and we ended up in a basement that was a great deal less accommodating than the unit we reserved. When we contacted the property for at least a partial refund, we never received a reply. If we had arrived earlier to check-in, we would not have stayed at the unit at all. Unfortunately, our nighttime arrival did not allow us to make other arrangements. I have concerns that what was advertised may have been intentionally misleading. I would not recommend a stay with this property, as they did not deliver the service or quality of accommodations we paid for.

I cannot rate anything accurately other than the check in experience because i could not get in the property. I booked unit 205 via Expedia and was switched to 207 by the property. I did not noticed the change and my reservation with Expedia was never changed to 207. I headed to unit 205 with a code to enter for unit 207. My family and i stood in the street for about 45min under the sun in an area that is quite sketchy. I tried to contact Expedia and the property mgmt. The number provided gets you to an AI agent that can send you a text msg with an email address to then receive a phone call from the mgr. When i received the call, we were already in an Uber headed to another Hotel and not happy. The mgr tried to explain and justify over and over that none of it was their fault. Imagine if this was at night? I expect reservations to be honored as made. If this is not possible through a third party, don’t work with them. When providing check in instructions, send the phone number of a real person. I am headed to another property in another city and just got my check in instructions with a video and the phone number of the manager for any issues. Refreshing!

The worst it’s not even a hotel address is different and everything was nasty

Everything was nice. We had an issue at check in, but it was Expedia app, not them. Another couple had the same problem. My only thing is that your can’t call and speak to anyone, it’s all thru email. The property was nice. Area was cool, plenty of parking. I would book again for sure

I would satay again. We came in for the Roots Picnic. It will say place was clean. We chose this property to experience some of Philly’s roots! There were minor issues like only having only having one set of towel and washcloths. The room has some upgrades but you can tell they were put up poorly, the toilet roll hanger would not hold the toilet tissue. The shower needed a better scrub and there was now where to place the toiletries in the shower. The electrical sockets. Needed Atleast one by the bed. There was a table that had the plug ins which I think a small table with the device plugs attached would work. Minor things! Great stay
