Great
Nice location for Jewellery quarter. Nice room. Could not open the window though so quite warm and stuffy. Breakfast functional, not great. But did have a waffle maker.

Well located for the tram and Jewellery Quarter. Easy, friendly check in. Clean, comfortable room with decent air conditioning (there on a >30°C day). Good night sleep.

Came to stay at Hampton at Hilton during a cricket game and would stay here again. Rooms were clean and spacious and comfortable. Staff were very kind and helpful too. Breakfast was a little limited but tasty and fresh.

It has really gone downhill. I tried to check in at three o’clock and the room still wasn’t ready — it was actively being cleaned. When I went back to reception to let them know, the staff were unbelievably rude. The receptionist said, “apparently the room is not ready” with a real emphasis on “apparently”, which felt completely unnecessary and dismissive. While she was dealing with me, her manager repeatedly interrupted to ask payroll questions. Eventually both of them walked off mid‑conversation to sort out their own issue, leaving me standing there with no explanation. No apology from anyone (except the cleaner), just an adversarial attitude. It’s such a shame — the staff used to be so polite here. The rooms themselves are no longer up to standard either. The bathroom door is rotten and shedding bits of wood across the floor. The shower has barely any pressure, and the shower pole is just resting on the taps, making it unusable — you have to hold the shower in one hand and wash with the other. The smart TV has no internet access, so you can’t stream anything, and there’s a large line running the full length of the screen. To make matters worse, there’s a connecting door to the room next door, so we could hear everything: their TV, their conversations, even their air‑con running all night. Overall, a really disappointing stay. Save yourself a fortune and go to travelodge it cant be any worse

Great

Solo stay

This is a great hotel, affordable and very much worth every penny. The rooms are comfortable and well-sized. Great bathroom facilities as well and fully stocked. Also comes with a huge tv in each room, which is a plus, and a good size desk for work or other matters. The staff were also brilliant; Amz was especially helpful - when I wanted to change rooms because my lights made an odd sound, he personally showed me the other room options and allowed me to pick one which I appreciated. All the staff are generally nice and willing to support with any requirements you may have. In terms of facilities, it is not extensive but there is a gym that has enough equipment for most workouts, and there is also a restaurant and plenty of sitting space in the relatively small but tidy, clean and well-decorated lobby. I suppose in terms of improvements, the dinner menu is a little uninteresting and tastes like frozen food, so there could be some improvements from that end. But there are also plenty of food places nearby to order from. The breakfast was great though; decent amount of choice and it’s included in every stay for all guests.
