Fantastic 5.0
We had an amazing Scottish Highlands tour with our guide, Jack! Jack was incredibly funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. His fascinating stories about Scottish history, culture, and local traditions made the entire journey enjoyable, even during the long bus rides. The scenery at Glencoe, Glenfinnan Viaduct, and Loch Lomond was absolutely breathtaking. Jack’s great sense of humour and enthusiasm made this trip truly unforgettable. Thank you, Jack, for such a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

Fantastic 5.0
Our tourguide Callum is so impressive! He was a very safe driver, a podcaster, a DJ, and a tourguide all in 1 as he drove us through the highlands. While the weather was foggy and that meant that some of the scenery were not the clearest - that's also the beauty of the Scottish Highlands, is it not?;)

Great 4.0
There was a work being done in Queen Street so when we arrived at one of the bus stop it was closed and a very nice gentleman gave us the direction where to get City Sightseeing Bus. The driver was nice.

This "Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands Tour from Glasgow" deserves a full five stars! Our female driver and guide was amazing—she drove very smoothly and provided wonderful, informative commentary along the way. The itinerary was well-crafted, the highland scenery was breathtaking, and this is the furthest north I've ever traveled. The only tiny regret was not being able to take a boat cruise on Loch Ness; hopefully, they can include boat time in the future (it's totally fine to increase the price and return a bit later!). Overall, 100% satisfied and highly recommended!

Fantastic 5.0
The guide maketh the trip! Scot D from Timberbush Tours was amazing. He is clearly passionate about Scotland and is highly well read and educated. Scot knew his history so well, and even choreographed when he would tell a story and the appropriate music to play at every moment. We are a family of four, with an Australian and Hong Kong background and two teenagers. We all enjoyed it. Scot (amazing how he drove, spoke, DJed and did everything by himself and all done safely and to perfection) followed the itinerary, but also managed to give us the freedom to vote where a choice had to be made. All in all, this tour is highly recommended. We booked our own accommodation at the Mercure at Inverness (on the “fun” side of Inverness) where the restaurants were buzzing. All good.

Fantastic 5.0
The Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Stirling Castle Tour from Glasgow was honestly one of the best tours we had during the trip. The cruise, the scenery, the Scottish farm animals, and especially Stirling Castle made the experience unforgettable. Stirling Castle was full of history and gave a great insight into Scotland’s past and royal history, while the landscapes around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs were absolutely beautiful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, active, and helpful throughout the entire trip, and he kept everyone engaged the whole time. My only complaint is that the cruise and castle entrance fees were paid separately, and I wish they were included in the package. Other than that, the tour was amazing and highly recommended for anyone visiting Glasgow.

Our guide was Stephen who was fabulous. He obviously loves his home city and gave us a great rundown of some interesting places. Wonderful!

What to know before visiting Glasgow

What to expect from Glasgow City throughout the year

Glasgow City’s top bookings are led by Tours, followed by Attraction passes and Events & shows, and demand rises and falls noticeably through the year. Activity is quietest in January and surges around May, so the city feels liveliest in that peak period and calmer in the winter months.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find attraction passes an easy, budget-friendly way to see highlights with flexible entry options that suit children and mixed-age groups. Couples often favour Tours for more structured experiences—guided city and regional tours suit those after storytelling, local flavour and easy planning. Solo travellers and small groups can pick from Events & shows or shorter tours; events offer the widest range of options so they’re good for people chasing something specific or varied.

What travellers from Australia should book in advance

Most travellers from Australia stay fairly flexible, as many activities can still be arranged a day or two before, but the typical booking pattern here leans toward planning a bit earlier. The earliest planners commonly book around a month ahead, and that extra planning pays off in the peak month of May when demand is highest.

How the main categories compare on price and appeal

Attraction passes are the easiest, lowest-cost way in and work well for budget-conscious visitors or families wanting flexibility. Tours sit at the higher end of the price scale and tend to appeal to visitors who prefer guided, curated experiences. Events & shows show the widest spread of prices and offerings, making them the category with the most varied choices—good for travellers hunting anything from low-cost local gigs to pricier performances.
