Fantastic 5.0
The hotel is very large, and the rooms are excellent. They offer turndown service, so after a bath, you return to a freshly made bed. The public bathing area is very spacious, with both indoor and outdoor hot springs. The swimming pool has a waterslide, which the kids absolutely loved. Even if you don't book the buffet for dinner, there are other simple meal options available at the hotel, which is very convenient. Right outside the hotel, to the left, there's a drugstore where you can pick up drinks and snacks while shopping. The hotel is incredibly close to Jigokudani (Hell Valley); it's just a short walk up a small hill. As mentioned, the hotel's outdoor hot spring at the swimming pool offers direct views of Jigokudani.

great experience in their ryokan style room! located in a massive hotel! need to learn to use public bath etiquette otherwise the obasan who looks after it call you. not tattoo friendly. need to get covers from the drug store nearby.

Fantastic 5.0
This hotel is located right opposite Daiichi Takimotokan. The facilities feel quite new, featuring a Nordic style that I really like. The first floor is a Western-style bakery and café with a Nordic wooden aesthetic, where many Western tourists enjoy coffee. It has its own hot spring bath, though it is very small. The bathrobe provided is identical to the one at Daiichi Takimotokan. Guests can also go across the street to use the hot springs at Daiichi Takimotokan. Highly recommended!

Fantastic 5.0
The booking details on Klook are quite inaccurate. It indicated that only breakfast would be provided but I got a kaiseki dinner and a traditional Japanese breakfast with buffet items. It was quite worth the price based on what I paid. View was great too!

More about Noboribetsu hotels

Quick view: what staying in Noboribetsu feels like

Stays in Noboribetsu span a clear range: the most expensive rooms run about 5.4 times the price of the most affordable, so there’s a noticeable premium at the top end. The sweet spot for value sits in the premium tier, offering a good balance between comfort and cost for most travellers.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy properties occupy the lowest end of the scale and suit budget-minded travellers who prioritise basics. Standard rooms step up from economy in comfort and price, appealing to those who want a bit more space without stretching the budget. The premium tier represents the best value and is the most common sensible upgrade for travellers wanting higher comfort; moving beyond premium to luxury is the biggest price jump and is where costs rise sharply. Luxury accommodation sits well above the rest and is aimed at travellers who want a substantially more premium experience and are willing to pay for it.

When travellers from Australia tend to book and why

For travellers from Australia, the priciest month on record is July and the cheapest is September, with September typically around 30% cheaper than July, so September is the best fit for a budget-led trip. Rooms are generally booked about 48 days ahead on average, so if you’re travelling in the priciest months consider locking in plans earlier; for most trips there’s still some flexibility if you book a few weeks out.
