Great 4.0
Convenient transportation: It's a one-minute walk across the street from the train station, and there's easy access to trains/Venice's main island, which is very convenient. Tip: You can store your luggage at the hotel, so you don't have to carry it up countless stairs on Venice's main island.

Fantastic 5.0
Nice and clean hostel located a few minutes walk from the Venice Mestre station. Very convenient to go to the main Venice area during the day and go back to the hotel at night. A lot of asian food restaurant nearby.

Fantastic 5.0
The hotel's location is convenient, and the rooms are spacious. It's just a two-minute walk across a small road from Venice Mestre train station. Not staying on the main island of Venice was a very wise decision. There are many restaurants nearby, offering various options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Chinese restaurants, in particular, offer great value; both Chinese restaurants we tried over two nights were excellent.

More about Venice hotels

Staying in Venice: value range and sweet spot

Staying in Venice spans a modest premium: the most expensive class runs a bit over twice the price of the most affordable one, so you can step up meaningfully without chasing extremes. The best balance for most travellers sits in the premium tier, which offers noticeably better comfort and value than the lower tiers without the steep jump into the top luxury bracket.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy rooms are the entry point, clearly cheaper than the tiers above and suitable for travellers focused on budget and basic needs. Standard rooms sit just above economy and are only marginally pricier, appealing to those who want a little more comfort at limited extra cost. Premium is where value concentrates: it’s the most recommended middle ground, offering a clear upgrade over standard for a moderate increase in price. The biggest decision point is the jump from premium to luxury — that step brings a large price increase and suits travellers seeking a markedly more indulgent stay.

When travellers from Australia tend to book and timing tips

Australian travellers typically book about two months ahead, with many locking rooms further in advance for the busiest pricing periods. Rates are usually lowest in August and highest in April; if your trip is budget-led, travelling in August will generally offer the most savings. Because typical booking lead times exceed a week, plan ahead if you want the best choice in the priciest months.
