Things to do in Kathmandu

Due to work, I only had 24 hours in Kathmandu, and this group day tour was perfect! Before arriving, I saw reviews saying the tour might run overtime. Since I had to leave Nepal that night, I communicated with the guide, and he helped manage the time and prioritized taking me back to the hotel, which was very thoughtful! This private tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off and a light lunch, and the guide explains the attractions. If you don't have time to do research before you go, have limited time, and want to easily explore famous local attractions and take photos, I highly recommend this tour! However, be prepared for only 10-20 minutes of free time at each attraction after the explanation and tour. I didn't have enough time to see some attractions, but I felt the time was just right at others. The tour fee does not include the entrance fees for all attractions. If you are Chinese and hold a Chinese passport or SAR passport (I remember the English wording at the ticket office actually said 'Chinese' for the discount), there are discounts at two of the attractions. Remember to bring your passport and buy the tickets with the guide. I am from Hong Kong and hold a Hong Kong SAR passport. At one attraction, the staff initially refused to recognize my passport as Chinese-issued and said that Taiwanese passports do not have discounts. I had to point out the information on my passport to show her that it was a Chinese-issued passport before they gave me the discount. I saved a total of 2,000 Nepalese rupees at the two attractions. In addition, the guide, Anon, was easy to get along with and willing to help solve problems. I bought a Shakyamuni Buddha statue there to take back to Hong Kong for worship, but I didn't know how to handle the consecration or filling in Nepal. Guide Anon was a great help at the Boudhanath Stupa attraction. He used the limited 20 minutes of free time to take me to ask the shops selling Buddha statues nearby. Finally, with their local language communication, we found a local family doing filling on a street outside the stupa. I am very grateful for his help throughout the communication process, which allowed me to complete my wish of bringing back a local handmade Buddha statue from the Buddha's birthplace to worship, and I just made it in time for Buddha's Enlightenment Day, which was very auspicious. In addition, we encountered a cremation ceremony at the last stop, Pashupatinath Temple. The deceased's family members were cleaning the body. I didn't know what all the attractions were beforehand, so it was a bit sudden. Even across a river, it was still very clear, so it's best to be prepared. Finally, I still want to thank Guide Anon for his help. There was MOMO to eat near one of the attractions. If the lunch box is not enough to fill your stomach, remember to tell the guide, and he will take us to eat MOMO quickly during the free time. P.S. If you have a weak constitution or stomach, remember to be careful about drinking water and the sauces in the food. Even bottled water with sealed caps may be fake, so test for leaks. Ideally, you can bring bottled water from Hong Kong like I did.

My day in Kathmandu is perfect with this tour. My tour guide, Ms Sajina is very informative, helpful and also super duper friendly😍😍 She also took good picture like a pro! Big and huge advantages. Had an amazing day trip to Chandragiri hills. Our your guide Sajina proactively reached out to me one day before giving headsup about the pickup timing and details. She was also accomodative in my preferred pick up time. During the trip Sajina was very informative sharing the details about Nepal's Culture, Traditions places, food and history. The tour company, guide Sajina and Driver Biren all were considerate to our small requests during this trip and very helpful in nature. So a big kudos to their hospitality. They also planned the activities on both sightseeing spots very well. The car was very new and well maintained and the Biren drove very safely. They provided snack box which kind of served as our mini lunch. Overall we spent around 6 hours during this day trip. We were lucky to have great weather with white sunny day with less clouds and hence able to spot all the major himalayan mountain peaks of Nepal. Highly recommend this tour if you need a cozy day trip around Khatmandu

last min booking also can. very fast confirmation by the team. driver & guide picked us on time at our hotel. took 1+ hour to reach the location. driver is pro to drive in hilly roads. arrived just on time for sunrise. you can just see a part of mount everest only as it is at the back of other mountains. can see himalayan range and other mountains view. our guide, Shree is really helpful naming the mountains and answering our questions. he took really great photos of us. brought us to another location to get a different view and to a hotel nearby for coffee with a view (paid separately to hotel). itinerary timing is on time. dropped us back to out hotel and still get to have breakfast at our own hotel. great package for someone who's in kathmandu for a short time.

I'm from Macau, and I'm writing this review in Cantonese. This EBC trek has opened my eyes to a new understanding of mountain trekking. The biggest surprise was meeting a great guide, Nima. He taught me a lot about mountaineering techniques on this trip and carefully explained every landscape and every detail. He is a very gentlemanly person. It is my honor to have met such a good guide. The food and lodging arrangements were also excellent. In addition, Epic Adventure Company arranged for a colleague to meet me at my hotel on my first day in Kathmandu to carefully explain all the details and precautions of the entire trip. The next day, they also arranged for a car to take me to Kathmandu Airport to fly to Lukla. The service was excellent. A very unforgettable journey!

first experience in nepal, jeet bhandur has been an amazing guide. abc trek is definitely one of the best out there, and snowpeak just made it better!
