    As we slowly transition to hotter temperatures, wouldn’t it be nice to head somewhere cool and breezy to relive the holiday breeze? We have the answer for you: time to visit Baguio City! The weather is perpetually cool in Baguio, earning its title of Summer Capital of the Philippines—it’s only right to spend the coming hot and humid days cooling off amidst swaying pine trees.     COVID-19 Travel Guidelines:
     Here are the updated requirements and process when visiting the City of Pines:
    *Note: Only fully vaccinated* individuals or those with negative test results are allowed to travel within Baguio City.
    1. Create a BAGUIO VISITA account at visita.baguio.gov.ph.
    2. Upload confirmed itinerary and accommodation booking, valid ID, and ID photo when you create your BAGUIO VISITA account.
    3. Register as a group and include all traveling companions on the Baguio VISITA page under MyTravels and click "Add Companion". Don't forget to add the vehicle information for yourself and your companions. For more information, click here.
    4. Upon arrival, proceed to Triage located at the CAP Camp John Hay, and Baguio or the Central Triage.
    5. Follow all health and safety rules within the city.
    *Minors are exempted from vaccination and test requirements as long as accompanied by vaccinated or tested adult.
    **Accepted tests are RT-PCR within 72 hours or Rapid Antigen within 24 hours.

This eco-park located in the St. Francis Xavier Seminary is lined with different species of bamboo that lead you through a maze-like path. The sanctuary’s red-painted fences will even remind you of Kyoto’s Arashiyama Bamboo Forest that’s all over Instagram. Now, you don’t have to fly to Japan to snap a photo amidst towering bamboo trees for that enchanting forest look!

    3. Appreciate nature and art at BenCab Museum

    If you want to dedicate time in your Baguio itinerary to appreciate art, the BenCab Museum is the best place to go. This popular museum is home to the artworks of Benedicto Cabrera Philippine National Artist for Visual Arts, and of other indigenous Filipino artists. The museum features an extensive collection of ancient tribal statues and figures, as well as tribal weapons used by our ancestors that you can marvel at. It also highlights the indigenous architecture of Ifugao, Kalinga, and Bontoc which are evident all around the museum.
    The BenCab Museum is situated on an organic farm and marries nature and art perfectly. It’s open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 9 AM to 6 PM. You have to pay an entrance fee of P150, but the amazing artworks you’ll get to see up close are priceless.

    The Baguio Night Market is one of the best places in Baguio to go thrift shopping. You can score amazing deals on unique pieces if you’re patient and diligent enough to hustle through all the shops that line Harrison Road. The night market is open from 9 PM to 4 AM so you can shop all night long! Just don’t forget to bring enough cash because this place is full of amazing finds!

    The iconic Session Road is one of the best places in Baguio where you can experience the vibrant nightlife. There are a plethora of bars and restaurants that you could choose from where you can enjoy a bottle of beer with the company of your friends. It’s the best way to slow down after a busy day of sightseeing and lots of walking!

    Complete your Baguio experience by including a visit to the La Trinidad Strawberry Farm in your Baguio itinerary. It’s located 30 minutes away from the city, but the experience of handpicking fresh strawberries makes the trip worth it!
    You can bring some of the strawberries you picked back home to make your pasalubong even more special. If strawberries aren’t enough, you can also buy strawberry wine, jam, and crinkles and treat yourself to some strawberry ice cream or taho.

    Bring a bag of Baguio back home and buy coffee beans at Kape Umali or Garcia’s Premium Coffee, both located inside the Baguio City Public Market. The aroma of the coffee beans will easily lead you to these two shops that are actually beside each other. Between Kape Umali and Garcia’s Premium Coffee, they sell a wide variety of coffee beans from Arabica, Excelsa, and Robusta to local beans like Benguet, Kalinga, Sagada, Arabica, and Barako. If you’re a coffee aficionado, you have to include both in your Baguio itinerary!
