Reviews
Our guide was amazing. she was knowledgeable and super sweet. There were just enough informations and fun facts that she curated about each sumo. she highlighted some popular sumos among viewers and reminded us of when they are on stage. this has got to be one of the highlights of my trip. we got super lucky with the place and timing. My husband and I enjoyed every bit and learning about sumo wrestling. The meeting point may be a bit confusing but we got there about 15mins early to leave wiggle room. ☺️
From start to end - amazing! Our tour guide was Miki, she was very passionate about sumo and knew ALOT! We enjoyed learning from her about this unique sport and it's traditions. The show itself was mind blowing, we loved every second of it! It's a once in a lifetime experience!
the guide was excellent, professional and extremely nice to everyone in the group. she was very knowledgeable and attentive. highly recommend
Miki was an incredible guide—so friendly and welcoming! The tour was easy to find, very accessible, and absolutely worth the price. It gave us a deep understanding of the sport, rituals, customs, and culture of sumo wrestling, exactly what we were hoping to learn. Miki’s passion for sumo really shone through. Her extensive knowledge and the effort she puts into the tour were truly impressive—she knows every sumo wrestler in detail, which made the experience even more engaging. Attending the grand tournament was a highlight of our trip, and we’ve come away with a newfound love and appreciation for sumo. If you’re considering this tour, especially for your first match, we can’t recommend it enough! The seats we were also expecting to be quite far up, but were fantastic - we could see everything with our own eyes super easily and clearly! Thank you from your aussie friends, Gill and Harry :)
Such a great opportunity to experience a sumo tournament with a guide who can provide some history and context of what is happening. the guide’s research and knowledge of the wrestlers was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Miki was awesome, she’s a wealth of sumo knowledge and such a kind friendly person, during the sumo tournament she was engaged with our group and providing us with info about wrestlers she really made the once-in-a-lifetime watching experience of sumo even better. if I could give 10 stars I would. book this package with confidence that you’re going to get a wonderful experience.
very knowledgable guide Miki, she talked us through how sumo worked, the history of it and some the of the fighters that would be fighting on the day. she also let us know what was happening when judges got involved. would definitely recommend!
Our Tour Guide did her best to explain the rules of the game. However, if her English was better, it would have been better. This is our first time attending a live Sumo tournament and so it was good to have a Tour Guide explain and provide us with the background of the sport and how everything works. Thank you!
This tour is interesting for all newcomers who have sumo on their bucket list, but also for those who have been interested in sumo for a long time. Anyone who has been to Japan without seeing sumo has missed something!
Miki was my tour guide for this tour. I could really tell she loves sumo wrestling. She even made her own sumo rankings in English with little bios of each wrestler for us. Everyone on the tour could feel her enthusiasm and she explained the rules/history of sumo very well. A little expensive but I overall enjoyed my time!
