What to expect
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a scenic and relatively easy trek from Pokhara, offering charming villages, lush forests, and a breathtaking sunrise view from Poon Hill.
Day 1: After breakfast, embark on an exciting off-road drive from Pokhara to Upper Ulleri (3-4 hours). Start trekking from Ulleri (2,090m), passing Banthanti and Nangithanti. Enjoy lunch en route before reaching Ghorepani (2,860m) for a cozy overnight stay.
Day 2: Begin an early morning 45-60 min hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) for a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. After soaking in the views, descend for breakfast and return to Pokhara by 4WD.

Our guide, Sandesh, was helpful and attentive throughout the trek. He gave tips on how to pace ourselves during the trekking. He also kept us entertained by engaging in cultural exchange convos during the trek and it made the trekking easier.
This time it was a small group of two with a friend. The tour guide Santosh was young but experienced and patient. Although the weather was bad and we didn't see the sunrise and the beautiful mountains, it didn't matter, he took good care of us.
