Ryotei FUMOTO (料亭 冨茂登) in Hokkaido Hakodate - Michelin One starred High-end Traditional Kaiseki Restaurant

There is an exclusive parking lot, but the entrance is narrow and large cars may not be able to enter. The food quality is very high, but the variety is small. Each group is also an independent room, and the seats are not tatami mats but chairs, which is more suitable for the elderly. It's a pity that we missed the season this time and there is no crab dish.

I think it’s very atmospheric when there are many people eating there. They will be arranged in a big room. The food is very detailed and very delicious. I recommend you go there.

The menu doesn't appear to have changed too much from a year ago. Yes the service was exceptional but for a once Michelin rated restaurant we were a bit disappointed. In Noboribetsu we had a Kaiseki meal AND room for HALF the price of this (for 2 people) and we were SOOOO full and it also included hairy crab (at NO extra cost). Here we got the top end "Luxury Crab" Kaiseki but it fell short compared to our other experience and we weren't as full as you'd hope for $200+pp (we got snacks from 7-11 afterwards). With that said, everything was delicious, but in comparison to our "hotel kaiseki" this was nothing special.

It's really worth it to eat high-quality kaiseki dishes at this price. The clerk has a good service attitude and can communicate in English. The environment is atmospheric and clean, all private rooms, highly recommended!

Very good dining experience! The food quality is excellent. The sashimi is the top kaiseki cuisine I have ever eaten. The dining room is a box room, and there is a small garden where you can look over the dining room. The environment is very good. The restaurant also has a dedicated parking lot. It is the only restaurant with a dedicated parking lot during my trip to Hokkaido. I highly recommend it!
