The Shenyang Fangcheng Cultural Tourism Area is located in the center of Shenyang City, enclosed by the East, West, South, and North Shuncheng Streets. With a total area of 1.69 square kilometers, it is a district rich in historical and cultural resources in Shenyang City, and also a concentrated area of historical and cultural relics in Northeast China. It boasts the Shenyang Imperial Palace, a World Cultural Heritage site, and the Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang, a national key cultural relic protection unit. There are also 7 provincial-level cultural relic protection units, including the Khan's Palace site; 9 municipal-level cultural relic protection units, such as the Shengjing City Site (Northwest Corner Tower); 42 historical buildings, including the former site of the Governor-General's Office of the Three Eastern Provinces; and 11 traditional shops, such as Majia Shaomai and Laobian Dumplings. It is home to 4 provincial-level intangible cultural heritages, including Shenyang Folk Traditional Lantern Riddles, Shenyang Hu Kuizhang Pen Making Craft, Majia Shaomai Making Technique, and Liaocai Traditional Cooking Technique. Additionally, there are 16 municipal-level intangible cultural heritages, such as Manchu Pearl Ball Competition, Chen's Metal Relief Craft, Li Liangui Smoked Meat Pancake Traditional Making Technique, and Li Yongli Nuclear Carving Technique. The scenic area includes Shenyang Zhongjie, known as the "First Street in Northeast China," which is also a national demonstration pedestrian street.
