Hobbiton and Lord of the Rings Movie Set Tour

The tour was well organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. It was fascinating to learn about the history and behind-the-scenes details of the set. The scenery was stunning, and there were plenty of opportunities to take memorable photos. The comfortable luxury van made the journey relaxing and pleasant, allowing us to sit back and take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

It was a fun day exploring Waitomo and Hobbiton. Pick up was at the SkyCity Terminal, so it was quick and easy for us (we stayed across the street at the Horizon). They gave us a Cookie Time cookie and a bottle of water after scanning our Klook voucher. The ride itself was comfy, and Bruce, our driver and tour guide made sure we stayed comfortable and entertained all throughout.

My boyfriend and I specifically dressed in pink; he was like Galadriel, and I was like Legolas. He took an insane amount of photos, and I, who generally dislike tours, broke away from him and explored everything on my own. Thank you. During the tour, we learned a useful phrase in Chinese: "Can I have more free beer?"

My family and I love the tour in overall. our tour guide, she was so professional and friendly (8:10 am 7/12). we are blessed with the good nice weather. i recommend to go in the morning, as it’s not that hot during summer.

A Fairytale Come to Life! Absolutely loved walking through Hobbiton! The set is stunning, the tour was fun and insightful, and the Green Dragon ale was a perfect end to the visit. Hobbiton exceeded all expectations. From the moment you arrive, you’re transported into Tolkien’s world. The attention to detail is remarkable—the colorful doors, handmade props, and blooming gardens make it feel truly alive. Our guide was knowledgeable and added fun commentary throughout the walk. You get ample time for photos and to take in the surroundings. The complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn was a cozy treat. It’s a little pricey, but it’s totally worth it. Would go again in a heartbeat!
