Skip the queue to buy tickets and go directly to the check point for ticket inspection. No pictures are allowed in the palace, but it's good to see with your own eyes. The complex is quite large and has so much information to take in.
just use the QR code to gain access to the castle's compound and indoor areas. The Honmaru Gojen Palace is still closed. Took me around 2 hours to complete the tour. There's taxi que outside the gate if you don't want to opt for trains.
Such an amazing experience for one of our first castles. So informative and honestly left me with more questions going back home and looking up more information about it. The QR code by Klook skipped the line and made it very easy to enter. Highly recommend if you’re into important history of Japan.
No photos allowed inside Ninomaru Palace. Interesting exhibition though. And actually there are many guides giving tours to their own group. It's funny how you could actually catch bits of the other tour guides sharing (explanation about the exhibitions) as you move along the passage inside. It's only a one way path inside. too bad, we couldnt catch the night illumination show that's going on how due to our plans. From the tables setup, I imagine it to be very beautiful when the Sakura are all blossoming
Amazing location, 1 castle/palace that can be entered (remember to take off your shoes) and a large garden with a second buliding that at the time we couldnt enter. Not only that but 2 moats, one with enthusiastic carp and a carp food vending machine.
It was very easy and convenient. No need to queue in line. Just show your qr code and after the staff scans it, you may already enter the palace grounds. We entered the Nijo Castle first. It was beautiful! Each room has different paintings and carvings. It’s amazing to see how it’s so detailed and intricate. They also have life-sized figures in two rooms , if I remember correctly, to show how they gather on those times. The floors were also “singing” every time you step on it. You’ll know when you visit it yourself! 🙂 The gardens were even more beautiful especially when it’s sunny! It was so lovely to walk around and breathe in the fresh air. Unfortunately, the Ninomaru Palace was closed when we visited. I will definitely be back and see it on a different season.
Easy to use, just go to the staff at the entrance and let them scan the QR code. The castle itself is very beautiful and worth spending at least 2 hours inside. I would suggest going there early by the opening time, as there are big group crowds already around 9:30 and afterwards...
