Review for: Weekend evening

I went to the Central Yards Central Art and Taste Exhibition on Friday afternoon, and it was a one-of-a-kind experience — interactive not only for the eyes, but also for the palate, which made it feel very intriguing and different. My favourite rooms were definitely the Surrealism room, with the table setting inspired by Dalí’s Les Dîners de Gala, and the Impressionism room with all the sunflowers, even though, honestly, I liked all of them. I also really enjoyed the Spatialism-inspired room with the cabinets of curiosity, especially because it included so many artsy fun facts I didn’t know before, plus some delicious chocolate bonbons. Once outside, the lounge area was also very nicely curated, and we happened to join the canapé game at the bar, which gave us the chance to try a few delicacies. I had a lovely time, and I’d love to attend more exhibitions like this.

I had a wonderful experience at the Edible Art Fair and it was amazing! Each room is set up with a theme telling the story of arts and artists behind. Not only did you get to try something but learned something new! I hope there’re more events like this in the future!

such an amazing and interactive experiences! the whole concept was very inspired and I really enjoyed the food items in each room especially the surrealist room! The staff was also very nice and accommodating. The drinks and food in the lounge area was also delicious. My friends and I really enjoyed this experience! I would highly recommend a visit!

I personally think it's pretty great! Although the exhibition isn't huge, it's divided into ten themed zones. Each zone, while not large, features different schools of art, including several iconic and representative pieces. Each zone also comes with a related food item, which shows a lot of thought. The food was all delicious and seemed to be specially made for the exhibition, likely not available elsewhere. I went with a friend who studies art, and even she thought it was good 🤣. What appealed to me most is how relatable the entire exhibition is! Even if you don't have a strong art background, you can easily enjoy it and naturally become interested in learning more about each type of art. That feeling is really nice. A friend mentioned that some people thought it was a 'tax on intelligence,' but I personally feel that if you view it as an art exhibition, it's actually quite enjoyable, highly interactive, and the food is thoughtfully prepared—it's not just about buying food. As I walked through, I felt the overall concept and design of the exhibition were of high quality. It costs money, but overall, I highly recommend it! 🤣🙏🏻

Just before the Easter holidays, I went to the Art Taste exhibition in Central with a good friend. The exhibition was divided into ten halls, each designed around a different art movement and paired with various snacks. It was a feast for both the eyes and the palate! My favorite was the room themed after Dali's dinner party; it was super Instagram-able. The rooms by local artists Ruan Jiayi and Frog King were also very captivating, showcasing Hong Kong's local characteristics.

This is a fun, multi-sensory experience, suitable for both adults and children! There are 10 exhibition halls inside, and the activities last approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on whether you stop to take photos. The second-to-last (chocolate) exhibition hall has a rather ordinary interactive format, and it can get very chaotic when there are many visitors. The chocolates in the drawers are also very limited and replenished slowly, so people have to wait. In the evening, there's also free chocolate tasting and whiskey pairing outside the exhibition hall, as well as a souvenir shop, a cafe (you can get free coffee by completing a survey), and a bar (with happy hour, buy 1 get 1 free). Overall, it's a great immersive experience, but for the ticket price, I would expect deeper artistic connections and more thoughtful interactions.

The admission price kept changing. The first time I saw an Instagram ad and clicked on the website, there was an early bird discount for weekends at $288 (no handling fee on the official website). The next day, after confirming the date with my friend, the early bird offer was gone. I emailed their official email address but got no reply. So, I ended up buying a full-price ticket on Klook, plus an $18 handling fee. Then, a week before the event, they offered a 20% discount, which felt really unfair 🤨😥🫢. Anyway, maybe because it was expensive, the exhibition was very smooth with few people when we booked for 11 AM. However, some small rooms felt a bit crowded even with only 5 people inside. I can't imagine what it would be like if there were a lot of people 🫢🫢🫢. Some of the room decorations were really cheap... I know the balls in the first room are sold on Taobao, lol. My own company uses these same balls for client parties, lol. Then there was the duck room, which was good for silhouette photos. After that, the candy belt room had a really ugly display; they just laid out the candy with no aesthetic appeal. In the drink room, one of the spouts was empty, maybe they ran out. The drink tasted like syrup. Then the fruit room, where they were actually giving out real bananas 🍌 lol... Next was the Dali room, which had a lot of thought put into it and was the most Instagrammable. After that, the egg tart room, I don't know what it was supposed to be; I couldn't get a good photo, it wasn't very pretty. Then the sunflower room, which was super plain, like a kindergarten. The airplane meal they served was even worse, it tasted terrible. The flower screen was normal. Then the colorful room, which also looked very low budget. Finally, the Frog King room, which clearly had a lot of effort put into it. Even the staff in this room were helpful and nice!!!! They didn't give off the vibe of not knowing anything. So far, I know all the helpers throughout the venue are temporary staff... but everyone seemed clueless... I spent $378 for this experience and got these low-budget decorations and food... It was a mess.
