Day 1: Kamikochi Hiking Adventure
Depart from Nagoya and travel by car to Kamikochi (approximately 1,500 meters above sea level), known as “Japan’s most beautiful mountain scenic area.” Upon arrival, enjoy about 3.5 to 4 hours of free activity. Two routes are recommended: Beginner’s Route: Taisho Pond to Tashiro Pond to Kappa Bridge, a total of about 3.5 kilometers, taking 1 to 1.5 hours to walk. It’s a gentle and easy walk, allowing you to easily enjoy the continuous mountain scenery and beautiful lakes. Challenging Route: Kappa Bridge to Myojin Bridge to Hotaka Shrine Okumiya & Myojin Pond to Dakesawa Marsh, a total of about 5.6 kilometers, taking 2 to 2.5 hours to walk. The scenery along the way is tranquil and away from the crowds, suitable for visitors with good physical stamina.
In the evening, check into Hakuba Sun Valley Hotel, enjoy a rich kaiseki dinner, and relax.
Day 2: Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Adventure After breakfast, head to Ogizawa Station to begin the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (Japan’s Roof) adventure. The entire journey takes about 5 to 6 hours, using various modes of transportation to traverse canyons, snow walls, and the Kurobe Dam, offering a visually and tactilely stunning experience.
- Ogizawa to Kurobe Dam (Electric Bus)
- Kurobe Dam to Kurobe Lake (0.6 km hike, about 15 minutes)
- Kurobe Lake to Kurobedaira (0.8 km cable car, about 5 minutes)
- Kurobedaira to Daikanbo (1.7 km ropeway, about 7 minutes)
- Daikanbo to Murodo (3.7 km tunnel bus, about 10 minutes)
- Murodo to Bijodaira (23 km highland bus, about 50 minutes)
After the trip, return to Nagoya, concluding the two-day, one-night magnificent mountain journey.

Reviews
It poured rain the day we went to Kamikochi, but that meant we had amazing weather the next day for Tateyama Kurobe. Both places are perfect for hiking. Although the group tour made the hiking time a bit tight, we still got a good introduction to the main sights. Our guide even helped us take photos and edit them, and was really funny, too! It was a very enjoyable trip. I definitely want to come back in the future for a more in-depth hiking and camping experience.
Great and Enjoyable experience on this two day tour! Though the time for both days os a bit short to explore everything. In Kamikochi, the hike to Myojin pond can only be done if you dont really stop and take pictures. In the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine route, only an hour is given to explore the snow wall and sorrounding areas, which is very short. Didnt even have the chance to grab lunch. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the tour!

Our wonderful 16-person group had two very attentive tour guides who stayed close to the group throughout the trip and even provided extra service by taking beautiful photos with their own professional cameras. The driver's safe long-distance driving also deserves five-star praise. Considering it was Japan's Golden Week with huge crowds, the tour was exceptionally satisfying and well-executed.
Amy, our guide, was incredibly passionate and took excellent care of each and every one of us. The driver also drove safely, and the itinerary was nearly perfect. What stood out most was how Amy not only looked after us travelers but also the driver. Communication was excellent, and because of that, the travelers were very cooperative, making for a perfect trip. Amy, I hope to see you again somewhere down the road. Thank you!
Our tour guide, Zuo Sha, was extremely professional. The itinerary was very well-planned, and she took excellent care of our needs. Highly recommended! Fantastic!
Tour guide: Professional and responsible. Transportation: The driver on the day was unfamiliar with the roads, causing a slight delay.
