Reviews summaryThe tour guide for this group was from Hong Kong. Sheila, our guide, was very thoughtful. She reminded us that the bus ride would be long and advised us to buy food at a convenience store to eat if we got hungry. The trip was very comfortable, and the tour bus was spacious with plenty of room, so it didn't feel crowded. Every 2 to 3 hours, there was a rest stop where we could buy snacks and use the restroom. On the first day, we visited Kamikochi. The itinerary was well-planned, and we got to see all the intended sights. The weather that day was perfect, neither too hot nor too cold. The scenery in Kamikochi is beautiful and well worth a visit; I recommend it to everyone. Our first night's accommodation was a hot spring ryokan in Hakuba Onsen. The buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of food. On the second day, we went to Tateyama Kurobe. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and the Snow Valley was closed, which gives us a reason to visit again in the future. We returned to Tokyo around 7 PM after the trip concluded. Our guide, Sheila, also recommended some good restaurants to try in Tokyo. We followed her advice and went to a beef tongue restaurant, which was quite tasty. We are very grateful to our guide for providing us with such an enjoyable two-day, one-night trip.
we joined this tour trip few days back and enjoyed the trip. Sheila is our tour guide. she is friendly, helpful and took good care of us. The accimmodation was good though the hotel look old. staff there were friendly. We ran into a bad weather day and the snow wall was closed but overall it was worth joining this 2D1N trip.
First and foremost, I must commend Sheila, our tour guide. She is probably the most attentive guide I've ever encountered on a small group tour like this. With a diverse group of international travelers, there were naturally more complex issues, but she was always ready to help resolve them. Furthermore, Sheila's communication and explanations were consistently excellent, regardless of the language proficiency of the group members. Her explanations were virtually identical across all three languages, which is crucial; otherwise, it would have felt like blindly following the crowd. The itinerary was well-planned, offering ample time to explore attractions and sufficient travel time to alleviate fatigue. However, the accommodation was quite remote, and the hotel's selection of goods was limited. While some snacks and late-night treats could be purchased at rest stops, the journey was quite long. I would suggest adding a closer shopping stop before returning to the hotel, especially for items that require refrigeration or freezing. The guide was absolutely fantastic.
Our tour guide, Ashley, and her assistant were very kind and meticulous, ensuring everything was perfect. We stayed overnight at the Hakuba Mominoki Hotel, where dinner was incredibly lavish, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The only minor drawback was that the bathroom was a bit small, but the coffee milk and regular milk outside the hot spring area were absolutely delicious. The Kamikochi itinerary involved a walk of over 3 kilometers to Kappa Bridge, which was pleasant since it wasn't a hot day. The water was crystal clear, and Kappa Bridge was beautiful. For the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, we kept changing modes of transportation. Before going, I thought it would be very interesting, but in reality, it felt a bit strenuous and wasn't quite what I expected. Also, there were many people, and the snow walls were crowded. It was extremely cold, so we quickly headed indoors after a short time. At the end of the trip, on the way back to Tokyo, we saw the snow-capped Mount Fuji from a rest stop, which was fantastic! Thank you, Ashley, for arranging everything so well.
The itinerary itself is very simple, which is the section from Taisho Pond to Kappa Pond in Kamikochi, and the section from Ogizawa to Murododaira in Tateyama Kurobe. Because the transportation to these two places is not convenient, it is a good choice to entrust it to a travel agency. At night, I stayed at Kurobe Tourism Hotel. Although it is not new, it is very large and clean, with hot springs. Dinner is a buffet with sushi and crabs. It is a comfortable stay. The tour guide Anni is very kind. She didn't introduce the attractions much, but she actively helped with the needs, which was considered a complete success. It was a pity that I didn't see the snow wall in Tateyama Kurobe this time because of the strong wind, but the weather in Kamikochi and Murododaira was good, and I am very grateful. 2025/5/29.30
Hard work for guide Ashley and very experienced driver throughout the trip. The itinerary fits my preference. One night stay at Hakuba hotel was well planned. The spread of food offered for dinner and breakfast was amazing! Responsible and very friendly hotel F&B staff.
I was very satisfied to be able to see such stunning scenery in two places in just two days! We met our tour guide Ashley who spoke three languages, so everyone could understand her introduction to the attractions. We stayed in Kamikochi for 4 hours on the first day. Group members who want to take a relaxing outing can choose to walk from Yudaisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, eat and go shopping nearby. Including the time for taking photos along the way, 4 hours is just enough to complete the entire Upper Highland Trail, but it may be a bit difficult for group members with less physical fitness. Tour guide Ashley also reminded group members in advance to do what they can. We stayed at Hakuba Mominoki Hotel at night. The design of the hotel was very warm and homey. The back garden was large with a foot bath, a small tree house, and tables and chairs where guests were welcome to chill outdoors. The hot springs are very comfortable and are the best summary of a whole day of hiking. 🥰 We set off very early the next day. Ashley was also very helpful. She helped everyone grab the earliest tickets so that we could reach the snow wall as early as possible. The weather was very good for the two days of the trip, absolutely no regrets! This was a very good experience and I highly recommend it to everyone!
I joined the 2D1N Kamikochi and Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route tour from Tokyo by EasyGO via Klook, and it was amazing. Our guide Merri Wu was punctual, kind, responsible, and made sure no one was left behind. He spoke Japanese, Chinese, and English fluently. The driver was careful and fast, and both ensured we had enough stopovers. Kamikochi was stunning with clear rivers and lush mountains. The Alpine Route from Ogizawa to Murodo was breathtaking, with snow walls and epic views of snowcapped mountains and Kurobe Dam. We stayed at ANA Holiday Inn Resort Shinano-Omachi Kuroyon, my best hotel stay so far. My room was big, modern, clean, cozy, fully equipped, and I had it all to myself. Both dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious and fresh. The view from the dining area of the mountains and forest was majestic. The onsen experience with the same view in the cold weather was the cherry on top. Highly recommended, even for solo travelers.
## Tourist Review A tour with a tight schedule due to long travel times, but it was definitely worthwhile thanks to the stunning scenery! A special shoutout to our talented tour guide, Ashley, who was exceptional at translating and accommodating everyone's needs throughout the trip. We were very lucky to enjoy beautiful weather on both days. On the first day, we spent about three hours at Kamikochi, which I felt was a bit too short if you want to explore all the beautiful lakes there. You would need at least 1.5-2hours if you want to visit the Myojin Pond from Kappabashi Bridge. More time in that area would have been ideal. After visiting Kamikochi, we took the bus to the Shakespeare Hotel and spent the night there. It had a cozy, antique vibe. While the basic amenities were sufficient, the furniture and facilities were a bit outdated and probably required some maintenance. It was also quite inconvenient that we couldn’t reach the staff at night. We woke up early at around 5 AM and traveled to Tateyama the next day. It was breathtaking! Arriving early helped us avoid the crowds, which was a thoughtful arrangement. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I highly recommend this tour to others!
our guide was Martin and he’s very fluent in mandarin. Our group had a mix of other visitors from Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan. excellent driver and hotel with onsen was great. buffet dinner and breakfast was so so but adequate. The trip has very long drives from Tokyo but I reckon this tour is better enjoyed from Nagano. overall Kamikochi may not be so easy to drive to. So this trip is good for those only wanting to enjoy it on a day and exploring only one side of the area. The overnight stay is not at Kamikochi area for our tour connecting to Kurobe Dam.
