Reviews
Taking the day trip allowed for a comfortable five-hour ride to Checheng, with relaxing on the bus and enjoying breakfast. We stopped at one or two rest stops along the way, and the driver drove quietly and safely the entire time, even with a lot of snow on the road. We spent three hours at the Ginzan Onsen hotel, including lunch, taking pictures, and playing in the snow, which was plenty of time. The hotel room was very spacious, and the bathhouse was also very large. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and delicious, and I would consider staying there again. We were lucky to have great weather at the Zao Snow Monsters, but we waited in line for three hours for the ropeway to see them, so we couldn't go to the Fox Village on the way back. However, seeing Zao and the snow monsters in good weather was worth it! It was magnificent! The driver also drove for five hours on the way back! Thank you for your hard work!
Van driver very good. Place is very good and cool. He help disabled. ginzan onsen, hotel, zao mountain and fox village.
Ouchi-juku and Ginzan Onsen have beautiful snowscapes. The Ginzan-so Hotel is amazing, and driver Xiao Lu's service is excellent and worthy of praise.
Had an amazing experience, our tour guide was very accommodating and friendly. The drive felt very safe and our guide was very efficient. Perfect experience for those who prefer to go off on their own but have to not worry about where the next location is.
Ginzan really is awesome! Money well spent for happiness.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the trip. Although the hotel decor was a bit lacking, the food was good. The biggest problem with this trip is that the snow monster (Juhyo) tour was only two hours long. Be sure to book the express pass in advance, it doesn't cost much more, otherwise, you can wait in line for the cable car for over an hour and a half during peak season.
Not recommended. The actual experience was disappointing, with a significant discrepancy between the schedule and the transparency of information. First, there was no EasyGo flag or personnel at the meeting point, and three vehicles (8 people per vehicle) departed together, with one vehicle being delayed by half an hour due to road conditions, so that the entire group didn't depart until 7:30 AM. Second, the "3-hour free time" at Ginzan Onsen was not as advertised: the driver only dropped us off at the bus station, and that day, due to the crowds, it was necessary to wait 1 hour for a bus (or walk half an hour), and most of the onsen were closed on Wednesdays. The only one that was open only allowed entry until 2:30 PM, which was completely impossible to make. Finally, the Zao Snow Monsters tour on the following day was originally scheduled for 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, but the cable car line was so long that we couldn't board until 11:45 AM (there are two cable car stations). Fortunately, the fellow travelers strongly protested, and the driver cooperated with adjustments, which allowed the itinerary time to be adjusted so that everyone could catch the cable car in time. Please consider carefully before signing up to avoid disappointment.
It's completely the same as having no tour guide; at best, it's just a car shuttle service. You have to ask about and handle buying tickets yourself. I originally booked a small group of 9 people because I expected fewer people and more flexibility, but why do we need three cars moving simultaneously? I might as well have booked a large group, which also includes cable car tickets, and the accommodation isn't that great either.
