Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience in Kyoto

We enjoyed learning the respectful culture around a traditional tea ceremony. Her ability to teach us in Japanese and English was great for our group. We even got to experience whisking matcha ourselves. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely experience . Our guide took the tea ceremony very seriously, which added to the experience. My hubby and I dressed up and looked amazing in our kimono’s.

we loved the ceremonial piece of this tea ceremony. It was beautiful to just get a peek behind the curtain of true Japanese culture. The instructor is fantastic. We did a private tour which I would recommend, with kimonos.

Very nice tea ceremony experience with beautiful traditional kimonos and a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere! 😊 We learned about the tea culture and making, we tried different matcha teas and we could also try to make our own matcha tea. Nice experience near Kinkakuji temple. The English of the teacher was excellent. Our only complaint is that the sweets weren't very nice but perhaps that is typical of those type of sweets.

The tea ceremony was good. The tea master (not sure if a lady is also a master). she was very knowledgeable and explained it well. she also accommodated the guests who could not sit on the mat by giving stools. The Matcha was delicious and I would do it again. I loved the Kimono choices on offer.

The tea master was really knowledgeable. The experience was engaging and fun, while learning about history and etiquette of the tea ceremony.
