What to expect

* 2026 Nagaoka Fireworks Festival (includes Japanese yukata; one size fits all; not provided to minors) | Japan's Three Great Fireworks Limited Festival, the most spectacular revival prayer romance in the summer night sky ✨

  • From August 2–3, a magnificent display will unfold along the Shinano River, with tens of thousands of fireworks lighting up the entire summer night sky every evening from 19:20–21:10.
  • The grand finale of the three famous fireworks is a must-see: the Phoenix Fireworks, accompanied by "Jupiter," a 5-minute miracle, with golden streams of light covering 2 kilometers of the riverbank.
  • The true Sanjakudama explodes into a giant light flower with a diameter of 650 meters, paired with the Niagara Falls fireworks, creating a visual and auditory shock that goes straight to the heart.
  • The Mihyappyo 100-shot Shakudama concludes the show, grand and magnificent like daylight, carrying the profound meaning of revival and hope.
  • It is recommended to bring your own cushion, poncho, light jacket, flashlight, wet wipes, and drinking water. Remember to take precautions against mosquitoes as the night can be slightly cool.
  • After the fireworks, the crowd will be immense, and buses are expected to depart late at night, allowing you to immerse yourself in the afterglow all evening. Traveling through the night, you will return to central Tokyo (Shinjuku/Ueno/Tokyo Station) for dispersal around 5-6 AM the next day, tired but incredibly worthwhile 🌙

* In a summer night interwoven with light, shadow, and emotion, embark on an unforgettable journey to Japan's top fireworks festival 🎆

Review for: Viewing Area - Venue B Group Seating (Front Row Seats)

There was a slight delay with the morning pickup, but the tour guide was reachable, which was fine. It was very reassuring that the tour guide spoke Chinese. However, the itinerary requires a lot of stamina for the round trip. The fireworks directly overhead in the front rows of Zone B were incredibly spectacular—a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Review for: Viewing Area - Venue B Group Seating (Front Row Seats)

The front-row seats in Area B were truly spectacular; the fireworks felt like they were exploding right above our heads. The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is a must-experience event. The tour bus was comfortable, and the guide's explanations were clear. There were several rest stops along the way to resupply, and the provided yukata added to the perfect atmosphere of the fireworks display. My only slight disappointment was during the return journey. The guide walked a bit fast, and with everyone leaving at the same time, it was difficult to keep up and spot the unlit flag, making it easy to accidentally follow the wrong group.

Review for: Viewing Seats - Venue A Group Seating

The itinerary started with a 9 AM meeting. We stopped at two rest areas, including a FamilyMart, so there was no need to worry about restrooms or food. Upon arrival at the venue, the tour guide led everyone to the group seating area. Our seats that day were quite close to the front and also near the restrooms. Since we couldn't get tickets on our own and joined a tour, having seats at all felt great, so we were happy! After confirming the fireworks schedule and our location, we had free time until the fireworks began. The four-shaku-dama fireworks were truly spectacular and breathtaking. The best part was being able to watch the entire fireworks display without rushing to catch a bus. After the show, the tour guide led everyone back to the bus. On the way back, we slept the whole way, stopping at one rest area that had a great selection of items. It was fun to see our fellow tour members happily shopping. The rest stops chosen by the guide were really good. Finally, we arrived back at Tokyo Station around 4 AM, concluding the tour.

Good to know

  • [Explanation of gifts and B-area front-row package] The complimentary Japanese yukata is a standard size; regarding the "front row" description in the "B-area group seating (front row)" package, there might be a translation issue. It refers to seats closer to the front, not necessarily the first row. This is a special note. Please be aware.
  • [In case of severe weather] The Nagaoka Fireworks Association reserves the right to cancel the fireworks festival. If a decision to cancel the fireworks festival is made before departure, the trip will be canceled or postponed. If no decision to cancel the fireworks display is made before departure, your trip will proceed as planned. After departure, all travel expenses are non-refundable.
  • [Recommended items to bring] Please be sure to prepare the recommended items to ensure a comfortable and safe viewing of the fireworks.
  • [Notification time and method] We will send an email between 20:00 and 21:00 on the day before departure, informing you of the guide and vehicle information. In case of peak season or special circumstances, the email sending time may be delayed, and the last email sent will prevail.
  • [Meeting and late arrival instructions] This activity is a shared car trip, so please be sure to arrive at the meeting point on time. Late arrivals cannot be waited for or refunded, and you will be responsible for any resulting liabilities and costs. Thank you for your understanding.

  • [Seasonal activity instructions] Seasonal activities such as cherry blossoms, autumn leaves, special flower seasons, snowscapes, lantern festivals, and festive events are susceptible to weather or other force majeure factors. If no official cancellation notice is received, the trip will depart as scheduled. If the flowering period or scenery is not as expected, no refund will be given. Please be aware.

  • [Vehicle seating arrangement instructions] For shared car trips, seating is generally on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have special requests, please note them when booking, and we will do our best to coordinate, but the final arrangement will be subject to the guide's on-site dispatch.
  • [Itinerary sequence adjustment instructions] Due to strict control over the operating hours of vehicles in Japan, the attractions, transportation, and stopover times included in the itinerary will be flexibly arranged according to the actual situation on the day. In case of traffic jams, weather changes, or other special circumstances, the guide will consult with the majority of opinions and reasonably adjust the sequence or reduce some attractions. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  • [No leaving the group midway instructions] The itinerary is a group tour activity, and you cannot leave the group midway or without authorization. If you choose to leave the group midway, the remaining itinerary will be considered voluntarily abandoned, and no refund will be given. Any risks or responsibilities arising from leaving the group will be borne by the individual.
