What to expect
【Magome-juku & Tsumago-juku Hidden Gem】 Magome-juku is similar to Tsumago-juku, preserving many traditional buildings and street layouts. It feels as if one has traveled back hundreds of years in Japan, making it an ideal place to understand and experience Japanese history and culture. The distance from Magome-juku to Tsumago-juku is 8.8km, taking approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to walk. If guests are willing to hike, they can discuss it with the tour leader, get off at Magome-juku, and get on at Tsumago-juku.

【Ryujin Waterfall】 Although not very tall, it is named for its waterfall shape resembling a winding dragon. The new greenery in spring, the dense shade in summer, the red leaves in autumn, and the snowy scenery in winter all add different beauty to the waterfall.

Reviews
we were only 3 in the group and the trip still pushed through. it felt like an exclusive tour. we were given more than enough time to explore each place. in Ryujin falls, only less than 10 people there so very exclusive. tip: you can swim in the water so bring your swim clothes, though we are only given 1 hr to explore rhe place which I think is more than enough time.
This was a very cost-effective trip. We loved the atmosphere of Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku. Since we went on a weekday with a small group of 7 people, there weren't many tourists, mostly Western visitors. Our tour guide, Xiao Gong, was very enthusiastic and attentive.
We were fortunate that our fellow travelers were punctual, the tour guide managed the time well, and the driver drove smoothly. Magome-juku has a stronger commercial atmosphere, and I personally prefer the atmosphere of Tsumago-juku. At this time of year, the Ryujin Waterfall already has some maple leaves starting to turn red.
The weather was great that day, there weren't many fellow travelers in the bus, the bus seats were spacious, and the tour leader gave a general introduction to the scenic spots and local cuisine. It's a trip worth taking!
October 13, 2025, day trip to Senjojiki. We plan to depart around 8:30 AM, arriving at the bus stop at 10:30 AM, then transfer to the bus going up the mountain to the ropeway station. We arrived at Senjojiki Station around 12:00 PM. Because the weather was good, the scenery was very beautiful. With the consent of all group members, we decided to extend our time at Senjojiki, meeting at 2:15 PM to wait for the return ropeway. We arrived back down to the bus around 4:00 PM. Since it would be dark by the time we reached Magome-juku and the shops would be closed, after discussion, we decided to return directly to Nagoya Station.
Nice trip with good arrangement and punctual requirements.
Arriving in Magome earlier than other tour companies allows you to enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the beauty of Japan. Because the roads were clear, we were able to stay longer than scheduled, and we managed to visit four different food spots in Magome, in addition to sightseeing! Tsumago doesn't have many places to eat. The waterfall was enjoyable even in the rain! It's an easy walk to the waterfall, only 15 minutes each way. All three locations have clean restrooms, so you can relax.
enjoyed the tour, we are quite a few fellow who took this tour thus we rode a van... enjoyed nature so much except for the hiking, lol but it was worth the visit and effort!
the town's and waterfall were beautiful. the drive was relaxing and uneventful, but there was quite a bit of construction traffic to slow us down. they shortened the time at tsumago by half an hour which was fine since there was less to see. worked out well. our "English speaking" guide could barely speak enough English to give us the prepared presentation and couldn't elaborate or engage in conversation. overall it was a nice trip away from the cities.
Even though there were only seven friends, the car was great and very spacious, the itinerary was well-managed, the explanations were detailed, and it was a very good experience.
