Review for: Chongqing Jiefangbei & Yangtze Cableway Full-Day Small Group Tour

Chongqing, this mountain city, isn't just for casual strolling; you'll be climbing hills all day, easily hitting over 10,000 steps on WeChat. During the day, Hongyadong is indeed just an ordinary commercial street, but our guide took us to the riverside, under the Qianximen Bridge, at 7:20 PM. The moment the lights came on, the entire stilt house complex looked like it had been set ablaze, shimmering with golden light. It truly felt "like Spirited Away," but it also reminded me of my grandmother's old house, adorned with lanterns during Chinese New Year when I was a child. The warmth of Chongqing and that dazzling golden light blended into a comforting liveliness. The overall itinerary was quite packed, and we didn't have a lot of time at each attraction, but I personally think it was great value for money, and being a small group allowed for more flexibility.

My first impression was how incredibly hot it was; I felt like I was melting, but I still had my fan and mini-fan. At Liziba, I waited for three trains to pass under the building before I got the perfect shot, and the sun made my phone scorching hot. The tour guide said the best spot was by the leftmost pillar on the observation deck, and sure enough, no one was blocking the view. After standing for ten minutes, sweat was dripping into my eyes, but the kids remained super excited. Overall, it was a great value, and we visited most of the city's attractions.

The train passing straight through the building at Liziba Station was absolutely amazing. It felt so unreal, and I recorded so many videos! At night, Hongyadong was glowing with all its golden lights. It looked like a beautiful palace. There were a lot of people, but the view was still incredible and totally worth seeing. It was extremely hot today, and I was sweating a lot. Luckily, the air conditioning in the indoor places and the car was strong enough to keep us comfortable — it really saved me! By the way, the fresh fruit I bought from the roadside was surprisingly delicious. It was a small but wonderful part of the trip!

Review for: Chongqing Jiefangbei & Yangtze Cableway Full-Day Small Group Tour

Traveling alone with a child, I didn't dare to go on a free-and-easy trip, so I chose this small group tour. The weather was great in late April, and the tour leader helped push the stroller and carry the baby onto the ropeway. My child didn't understand much about the Zhazidong and Baigongguan concentration camps, but seeing the 'Little Radish Head' sculpture, he was very quiet, so I believe he still gained something from it. The Three Gorges Museum has a dinosaur hall, and my child didn't want to leave. When the lights came on at Hongyadong in the evening, my child exclaimed, "Castle!" The itinerary was quite rich. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Overall, it was excellent and offered great value for money!

It was already 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) in Chongqing by the end of April, but thankfully the air conditioning in our small group tour was excellent. Our driver took us on a shortcut that locals use, so we didn't have to jostle with the crowds to photograph the monorail passing through the building at Liziba. The evening lights at Hongyadong were absolutely stunning, and since there were only six of us in the small group, we waited a bit for the night view without anyone rushing us. We managed to visit Ciqikou, the Yangtze River ropeway, and the Mountain City Trail all in one day. My legs were exhausted, but it was definitely worth it. I strongly recommend wearing comfortable shoes; don't ask me why I say that.

A day trip in Chongqing's city center is fantastic! In the morning, stroll along Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street, feel the prosperity and everyday life of the mountain city. The time-honored small noodles on the street are spicy and savory, and one bite is incredibly satisfying. In the afternoon, go to Liziba to see the light rail passing through the building, witness the magical scene of the train passing through the residential building with your own eyes, take pictures from the viewing platform that are super photogenic, and stroll along the Jialing River pedestrian path, enjoying the scenery on both sides while feeling the river breeze. At night, check in at Hongyadong, the stilt houses are dazzlingly illuminated, and the layered buildings are like traveling to the fantasy world of Spirited Away. The reflections on the river and the lights on the shore complement each other, making it so beautiful that you can't take your eyes off it. The whole day's itinerary is fulfilling and pleasant.

10/10 I would highly recommend this! The driver went above and beyond in guiding us through the beautiful city of Chongqing. We do speak Chinese, so communication was never a problem.

It was great. Our problem was the language barrier, as the entire tour was in Chinese. Hopefully, they can find a guide who speaks English. We saw a lot of things, and the guide treated us phenomenally.

The charm of Chongqing, the mountain city, is truly well-deserved! A day trip unlocked so many unique experiences: sampling various authentic snacks at Bayi Haochi Street, with the hot and sour noodles, chilled rice cake, and Chongqing glutinous rice balls each leaving a lasting impression; riding the Yangtze River Cableway, offering a panoramic view of the confluence of the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers from above, where skyscrapers and river views complement each other, and the city scenery at your feet is fully captured, the perspective is so unique; strolling through Ciqikou Ancient Town, where the cobblestone streets, old teahouses, and specialty shops are full of retro charm, and you can buy special souvenirs such as handmade hemp flowers and Chen hemp flowers, allowing you to experience both the prosperity of the city and the ancient town style, it's so satisfying.
