• Tenryu-ji Temple: Tenryu-ji Temple is the head temple of the Rinzai sect in Arashiyama, Kyoto, and is famous for its beautiful gardens and ceiling paintings. In 1994, it was registered as a World Heritage Site along with Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kinkaku-ji Temple, To-ji Temple, and Nijo Castle. This garden was the first designated historic site and special place of scenic beauty in the country and is a national treasure-class landscape, one of only 36 locations nationwide.
