I'd give it a 9 out of 10. Pros: 1. It's very difficult to buy tickets for Sanxingdui on your own, so joining a tour group makes it hassle-free and it's definitely worth seeing. 2. The group was relatively small. Although the guide's sales pitch on the bus was a bit awkward, there was no pressure to buy anything. Cons: 1. We spent too little time seeing the pandas, only two hours, which felt rushed. 2. Don't join this tour specifically to see "Hua Hua": The guide immediately explained that the wait would be at least an hour and a half, making it impossible to see her with the group. It would only be possible if you skipped all other pandas and focused solely on Hua Hua, and even then, you'd only get about three minutes with her. Summary: Overall, I'm satisfied and give it a 9. I recommend it for those whose main goal is Sanxingdui; just lower your expectations for the panda portion.
I thought this was a pretty wonderful, well-thought out tour. Pandas disappear during noon so I'm glad we saw those first. Our guide, 小宋, was good at explaining and keeping us engaged, and she brought us through the park very efficiently. We saw very many baby giant pandas and red pandas which made our day. 三星堆 was quite impressive too, though we were just given an audioguide to go explore it ourselves. We had ample time and the site itself was great. One thing I will say is that they drop you off at 金沙博物館 not at your hotel.
Our tour guide Ms Li is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, humourous and helpful. The first class bus is spacious and comfortable. She has planned the Panda Base route perfectly to avoid crowds. We have seen more than ten pandas in just two hours. She also shared a lot of history behind the Sanxingdui exhibits on the bus. We strongly recommend this day tour to those who are visiting the Panda Base and Sanxingdui for the first time.
The overall itinerary was very smooth. It's essential to be among the first to enter the Panda Base. This is because the weather is cooler, and the pandas are more likely to be outdoors. Also, the later it gets, the more crowded it becomes, and you could easily spend over an hour just waiting in line. Our tour guide, Xiao Song, was also very professional. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all things panda and could share fascinating facts effortlessly. The same applied to Sanxingdui, though since no written records were left behind, we can only rely on the unearthed artifacts and archaeologists' theories.
Our tour guide, Xiao Wang, provided exceptionally professional and enthusiastic service. Throughout the trip, her explanations were lively and engaging. She offered very detailed insights into the history and culture of the Panda Base and the Sanxingdui Museum, allowing us to gain a wealth of knowledge. The itinerary was well-planned and efficient, without ever feeling rushed. She also consistently attended to the needs and safety of the group members, proactively offering important reminders. Overall, the experience was very relaxed and enjoyable. We are grateful for Guide Xiao Wang's thoughtful companionship, which made this day trip a truly wonderful memory. We highly recommend her to everyone! 👍🐼✨
I highly recommend the one-day tour of the Chengdu Panda Base and Sanxingdui! Our guide, Xiao Zhang, was sincere and engaging. He not only used historical references, but also shared tips and recommendations from his own experiences as a local Sichuanese, which made the tour even more authentic. In the morning, we got to see the giant pandas up close at the Panda Base. Watching them eat bamboo and laze around was incredibly癒 healing. Thanks to Xiao Zhang's experience, he knew how to navigate the crowds, so we didn't have to wait in line or fight through hordes of people. We were able to easily see lots of pandas (this is very important!). In the afternoon, we visited the Sanxingdui Museum, where we marveled at the mysterious ancient Shu artifacts such as the golden masks, mythical creatures, and bronze trees. The entire tour combined nature and culture, offering both cuteness and depth. It was a truly fulfilling day!
This trip was truly great value! Our tour guide, Li Yanhong, gave us a detailed explanation of the pandas' story and smoothly led us to see over 10 pandas – it was amazing! The Sanxingdui Museum afterwards was also an eye-opener. Seeing these historical artifacts in person was very worthwhile.
The itinerary was very well planned, and the tour guide was experienced, allowing us to see the pandas and the Sanxingdui ruins via the easiest and most convenient route!
