Solo stay

Opened in 1931 and still has the New York gangster vibe to it. Very close to Times Square, Broadway & the Subway, recommend a visit here.

Perfect location near all areas of Downtown life and Times Square. Very easily walkable to nearby neighborhoods and restaurants. The hotel rooms are quite small and outdated and the shower was literally so small and narrow that a grown man would have to turn sideways to the wall to take a decent shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and great vibe all around.

We’ve stayed at the Edison a. Umber of times, since our first visit in 1978 and have always enjoyed being there. We love It’s close proximity to theaters, and easy access to public transit has helped us explore this terrific city.

We had the best experience from check-in to check-out. I began emailing the staff a couple of weeks before that our flight changed to an earlier time and was traveling with a senior citizen. They were able to check up in at 10am. They provided vouchers for breakfast daily. The on-site restaurants were delicious. Our son wanted to eat at Friedman's for every meal. And Mada provided us cleaning services in our room. She was so sweet and attentive. We told her we didn't need service everyday and she insisted. She made us aware when rain was coming and hot days to drink water. She recommended a laundry service. She was the best. Back to the hotel. It was beautiful and within walking distance of Time Square without having to hear the hustle and bustle all night. It is 1/2 block from the Time Square red stairs. There is always security standing by to check room keys before getting on the elevator or using the restroom in the lobby. The bellman only changed $1 per bag to hold luggage. Front desk always spoke when passing by. Look no further. Hotel Edison is the spot for you!

Fantastic

Stayed with friends · For friends and family

Location was FABULOUS! Perfect location in the theater district if you're seeing a show, around the corner from Times Square. This did lend to noisy nights on the street but nothing that prevented sleep. Room had 2 queens and more space than I thought we'd have. Gym was fully equipped and clean. Breakfast options as part of the $20 per person per day resort fee ("free to-go" or inexpensive sit-down eggs, toast, hashbrowns, coffee) were great. Security was solid-had to show hotel room key pass in order to get to elevators and had to swipe key pass in order to go up elevator. Very safe area with lots of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Cost was reasonable on Hotels.com especially considering location. We did the free walking tour of Rockefeller Center and Times Square that left out of the hotel lobby. It was great! It was 60 minutes, not a long walk, but interesting and did I mention, free! We also did a 2 private tour with Broadway Up Close called "Hamil Tour" for $83 pp. Two tiny complaints were that check-in was at 3:00 and our room wasn't ready until 3:15 and there was not a lot of surface space to put toiletries and no shelves/dressers to unpack. Tips: -There's a parking garage right diagonally across the street (259 W 47th) that we booked ahead thru SpotHero. -I checked on the price for the room 3 days before our arrival and it was $240 cheaper so I cancelled the first booking and rebooked at the cheaper price. Yay, Hotels.com!

Very convenient to Times Square, lots of restaurants, and all of the Broadway shows. The family room was very spacious and worked great for us. Would definitely stay again!

Great
The room was clean and stocked well with what we needed. The soaps and shampoo in shower was excellent and the water was really soft. The only thing was that our window could not be shut totally and the street noise came through.
