Hida Hanasato no Yu Takayama-ouan

I am a returning guest and stayed for two nights over the weekend. Unfortunately, this experience was noticeably worse than my previous stay, which was at least five years ago. The hotel still enjoys a great location, with easy access by both JR and car, and the availability of on-site parking is a definite advantage. The onsen area was also well maintained and provided a pleasant experience. However, the guest rooms now appear more worn and dated compared to what I remember. The hotel requests guests to remove their shoes upon entering the main lobby, dining area, and guest rooms, which is understandable. However, during breakfast, the dining room floor felt somewhat sticky, which was not very pleasant. Perhaps this was due to the larger number of guests over the weekend, but it gave the impression that housekeeping and cleanliness standards have declined. The breakfast selection was acceptable, though nothing particularly memorable. Overall, while the location and facilities remain good, the hotel no longer offers the same level of comfort and quality that I experienced during my previous visit.

It was an amazing stay. We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the railway station, the japanese occidental set up and the onsen. Our room was clean and spacious, the pijamas were super nice. I went to the female onsen three times and I was on my own. We enjoyed the private onsen only once as there was always a queue. We've also got the breakfast included, it was good with a lot of options to choose.

Nice sized room, loved the private onsen and close to the station. Also close to downtown with a small walk. Staff is strict on check in times so be aware, early check in is not possible

Amazing onsen and lovely. Tatami floor gives an authentic feel but also causes a lot of static electricity shock.

Convenient location with healthy and tasty breakfast options. The check in process did seem slightly chaotic, and the staff seemed overwhelmed at times. One really can't go wrong staying at any Dormy Inn location as most have hot spring baths, exceptional food and lots of small perks other accommodations don't offer. Although other Onyado Nono locations are better maintained than this one, it's still a solid choice for exploring Takayama and the surrounding areas.

Laundry facilities were on the top floor however I was able to do aload of washing and dry while i was there which i was pleased about. Then after that things only got worse unfortunately.
