FantasticStayed with family
The JR East Mets Premier in Akihabara is an excellent, high-efficiency hotel room. The rooms are very small, barely big enough for a bed and a small desk, but they have large showers with full, neck-deep tubs and endless hot water. The front desk even provides bath bombs so you can take full advantage of a good soak before bed. The toilet is separate, with a bidet complete with heated toilet seats. Despite the small size of the room, the beds were comfortable and the service exemplary. There is a Starbucks right next door, and the train station is attached to the first floor entrance, giving you easy access to the entire city of Tokyo. The soundproofing is excellent, and despite the proximity of the trains you couldn't hear a thing. But the best thing going for it is it's location. You are only a few steps from Radio Kaikan, AmiAmi tower, and Tamashii Nations. You couldn't ask for a better location.
The front desk staff was very helpful, and at least one person who spoke English was available at all hours, making it extremely convenient if you don't speak Japanese. I highly recommend this hotel, and encourage Anime fans in particular to give it a try.

FantasticStayed with family
We enjoyed our stay here for our first time in Tokyo! If you're looking to stay in Akihabara, the location of this hotel cannot be beat, as it's directly outside the train station. Akihabara Station is only 2 stops away from Tokyo station, 30 min to Shibuya, and just 10 minutes from Asakusa, making this neighborhood incredibly convenient for getting around Tokyo. Despite being so close to the action, the room was surprisingly quiet. The rooms are on the smaller side, but the layout makes very efficient use of space. The shower and tub are very spacious, and the toilet is high tech and has a bidet! We stayed for 5 nights with no issues. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, and there is English speaking staff if needed. Our room was always very clean! We visited the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, and it had a very impressive spread of both western and eastern style foods for breakfast.
If you plan on doing laundry here, keep in mind there are only 3 laundry units for the entire hotel to share. They are almost always running, and you have to check frequently for an opening. The laundry units, while they do wash and dry, are small and are pretty limited to how much they can wash at once. You will likely need to spend extra coins and time for another dry cycle if drying thicker clothes, or, bring a laundry line to dry clothes in your room.
We would be happy to return to JR East Hotel Mets Premier and highly recommend it!

Fantastic Everything was great from start to finish.
The bathroom and sink could have been a little cleaner but good enough.
The AC was easy to use in the room, the air filter is a nice addition for air circulation and white noise since the room gave onto a busy street. The breakfast is fantastic, a lot of options.

Multilingual check in terminals are a big help. Located right next to Akihabara Station. I got a great view of the iconic Radio Kaikan right out of my window. Excellent toilet and bath tub. Convenience store right out the elevator on the first floor.
