Fantastic 5.0
Lyon is charming! Wish we could stay longer to explore more and get the most of this card. But the visit to the cathedral and city cruise was fun enough!

Fantastic 5.0
Hotel location and transportation: The hotel description stated it was a 6-minute walk from the station, but the hotel is actually located immediately to the left as you exit Lyon Part-Dieu Station. Being so close to the station was extremely convenient for dropping off our luggage right after arrival to go sightseeing, and on the final day, checking out, leaving our luggage, and doing some more sightseeing before taking the TGV to our next destination. The room was also clean. About the room: What was disappointing was that even though we booked a triple room (three people in one room), there were only towels for two. We were too tired to contact the front desk, so we managed by having two people use the bath towels and one person use the face towel. Amenities: It was nice that there was a water dispenser near the elevator, which also provided sparkling water. Other: There was a receptionist who could speak Japanese.

Fantastic 5.0
The location is great, just about a 5-minute walk from the rear exit of Gare de Lyon. There is a tram stop about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is quite good by European standards, featuring scrambled eggs, bacon, various cold cuts, assorted breads, fruit, yogurt, and fresh milk. Loose-leaf tea is provided instead of tea bags, and the staff are all very friendly. Highly recommended.

This mural is a tribute to the 'canuts,' the silk weavers who lived and worked here, and their historic 1831 revolt against oppressive conditions. It captures the resilience and pride of this vibrant community, showcasing the district's unique architecture with high windows and ceilings designed for looms. The mural also nods to Lyon's cultural heritage, featuring elements like the Guignol puppet theater and the city's Vélo'v bike-sharing system. The mural's depiction of Croix-roussiens adds a life-like, three-dimensional effect, making it a vital part of Lyon's architectural heritage. Originally painted in 1987 by CitéCréation, the mural has been updated over the years to enhance its realism. The most recent update in 2013 introduced more characters and lush greenery, enriching its urban spirit and showcasing its transformation from a simple depiction to the intricate masterpiece it is today.
