Things to do in Temple of Literature

To wrap up our Sapa trip with my nieces and nephews living in Hanoi, Vietnam, we took a one-day city tour bus around Hanoi. I was a bit worried because it had been raining since morning, but we decided to go out and wait it out over lunch. The weather cleared up, so we immediately booked tickets, exchanged them at the booth, and boarded the bus, which was incredibly convenient. The city tour was enjoyable and informative, with audio commentary available in various languages via headphones at each famous spot, and the estimated one-hour duration flew by. I was very satisfied with the open-air view from the second floor and the air conditioning, which made it comfortable even in the hot midday sun.

I want to start with Oscar, our private tour guide. He was well prepared and answered every one of our questions. His expertise and the passion with which he told us the story of the Temple of Literature were amazing. Even in the heavy rain, Oscar did a great job and kept our spirits up with friendly small talk. After the tour, we stayed and chatted about Greece, about Romania, and about our plans for the rest of the day. He even pointed us towards the Museum of Fine Arts, which was a great tip. Oscar is new to guiding, but you would never guess it. Highly recommended, ask for him if you can!

A must book! Tour guide Kevin was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. Great quality for price. Definitely recommend. it was only 3 people on tour so it was more personal. Kevin took really good pictures and took us through each step of how everything was done. We got to do hands on experience and got to get products and able to customize hat. I did the 1/2 tour and it was worth it. Book and request Kevin as your guide.

I had a good experience. I was able to see the significant landmarks of Hanoi. I had a wrong timing because it was too hot that time. I suggest that you take the bus around 5:00 PM onwards and see the landmarks with the lights on.

Honestly such a solid afternoon. Tran Quoc Pagoda was super peaceful and the temple of literature is a must-see for the architecture alone. Hoa Lo prison was pretty intense but really eye-opening... definitely glad we had a guide to explain everything. perfect way to spend a few hours if u want to see the main spots without walking everywhere yourself. totally worth it!

We traveled by Grab for our private tour for two. Our guide spoke excellent Japanese and showed us places we wouldn't have seen on our own, with an efficient route and clear explanations, which was wonderful. I definitely recommend this over going by yourself. They also changed the pho to bun cha for us, and the restaurant was delicious. Since we were staying at a hotel near Hanoi Cathedral, we skipped the cathedral tour and were dropped off at our desired location before parting ways. We were very satisfied with our quick half-day tour in the heat.

I apologize for the lack of communication; my phone was stolen. Thank you for still coming to the hotel on time despite the situation. It was incredibly helpful that you assisted me with the process of issuing my return flight ticket, even though it was unrelated to the tour. Although I participated alone this time, I was very satisfied as I was able to visit the places I wanted to see and do some shopping. Since I didn't have my phone, I couldn't take any pictures, but the guide took many for me. I would be delighted if you could send them to me, as I haven't been able to contact you since.
