Hotels in Otsu

Feels like a 5 stars experience on almost every aspect. Comfortable and quiet tatami room with plenty in room supplies; Decent and beautiful private Onsen facilities for rental; Overall renovation in tatami room and lobby are great. Good variety of foods for breakfast Buffett and dinner serves with high quality cuisine. Very friendly staffs and plenty of parking spaces for car rental. The only cons maybe its location is a bit far from public transport so car rental is recommended. They offer shuttle bus but the schedule is quite limited.

The hotel room is large enough, with beautiful scenery outside the window overlooking Lake Biwa. The onsen has towels available, which is very convenient, because many Japanese onsen hotels require you to bring your own towel from the room, which is troublesome, and you only get one, so it's gone after soaking. The free indoor parking lot has plenty of spaces, and you can enter and exit freely with a ticket. Sleeping is comfortable, and overall, it's recommended.

The staff's English is quite good, and the service is top-notch. There's free parking, the hotel is large, the rooms are big, and the dinner is lavish with sukiyaki, yakiniku, and sashimi. But the biggest, biggest, biggest issue is why there's only one bathroom in the room, and it's next to the open-air bath... It's so cold that it's easy to catch a cold taking a shower in a semi-outdoor space. But that open-air bath is really nice, soaking in the hot spring while looking at the scenery outside is very comfortable. The Lake Biwa view is first-rate. It even snowed a little the morning we left, and soaking in the hot spring while watching the snow added a bit of winter flavor.

This place is a total gem. The staff is friendly. You can have your own onsen in your room, and breakfast and dinner are included. The hotel offers free pick-up and drop-off service from the train station. great for family with kid as there is kid corner. nice view as close to the beach. only 15-20mins drive to Biwako. staff is friendly and supportive
