Puli

The best time to visit Puli Township is from October to April, when the weather is cooler and clearer for Sun Moon Lake, Cingjing, and temple visits. Summer is warmer with afternoon showers, but mountain escapes nearby remain popular.

The closest major rail hub is Taichung, including Taichung HSR Station. From there, take buses toward Puli, Sun Moon Lake, or Nantou, or book a private transfer for faster travel between scattered attractions.

Puli town can be covered by taxi, scooter, bicycle, or local bus, but many surrounding attractions are spread out. A private car, chartered driver, or organized Nantou tour is the most efficient choice for Sun Moon Lake, Cingjing, and Hehuanshan routes.

Stay in central Puli for bus access, restaurants, and lower prices. Countryside guesthouses are best for a quieter mountain-basin stay. Sun Moon Lake is a better overnight choice if lake views and evening lakeside walks are the main priority.
