Chishang

The best time to visit Chishang Township is from April to June for green rice fields and around September to November for golden harvest scenery and comfortable weather. Summer can be beautiful but hot, while typhoon season may affect rail and road travel.

Take a TRA train to Chishang Station on the Hualien-Taitung line. From the station, bicycle rental shops and local taxis make it easy to reach Brown Boulevard and Dapo Pond.

Cycling is the best way to explore Chishang because the main sights are connected by flat rural roads and bike paths. Taxis and self-driving are useful if you are carrying luggage or planning stops beyond the township.

Stay near Chishang Station for convenient bike rental, food, and rail access, or choose a countryside guesthouse near the rice fields for sunrise views and a slower atmosphere. Guanshan and Taitung City are alternatives if you want more dining or transport options.
