Nakagami

The best time to visit Nakagami is from March to May or October to November, when Okinawa is warm but less intense than midsummer. July to September is best for beach weather, but it is hotter, more humid, and can be affected by typhoons.

Fly into Naha Airport, then travel north by airport limousine bus, local bus, taxi, or rental car depending on your hotel area. Chatan and Yomitan are usually reached in about 40 to 90 minutes by road, depending on traffic and exact destination.

A rental car is the most convenient option because beaches, castle ruins, shopping areas, and villages are spread across the district. Local buses connect major roads and towns, but they can be slow for multi-stop sightseeing, while taxis are useful for short hops around Chatan, Yomitan, and resort areas.

Chatan is best for first-time visitors who want American Village, dining, nightlife, and easy coastal walks. Yomitan suits travelers who prefer quieter beaches, pottery workshops, Cape Zanpa, and resort-style stays. Kitanakagusuku and Rycom are practical for shopping and central-island road trips, while Kadena and Sunabe are convenient for diving, casual cafes, and a more local coastal feel.
