My therapist was strong and firm-handed. I was bathed like a baby and left feeling thoroughly relaxed and refreshed after a day exploring Sultanahmet. Tip is expected for this.

It was a really interesting experience and was better than what I expected. We were first brought to a sauna room, then fetched by a staff, who will scrub (incl your face) and bubble foam you up before washing you off and sending you on your way. You get a room to yourself to change in and to keep your belongings. The staff expects to be tipped - so bring cash if you would like to.

It was my first time at a hamam, and it was a good experience. My masseur, Serkar (I hope I spelled that right), provided amazing service. The only downside was that I didn't get a scrub, but my wife did.

Visited on a weekday morning and it was not crowded. It’s a place with a long history (you can’t really tell and also honestly, it isn’t all that important) and the elderly couple managing the place was very welcoming to foreign tourists. The bathing was performed by a lovely lady from Indonesia and it was relaxing to say the least. Lastly, this activity would be “cheaper” if purchased via the Klook Pass
