The best time to visit is generally from March to September, when weather is relatively better for beaches and outdoor trips, though rain can occur year-round.

Bintulu is served by Bintulu Airport and long-distance road connections within Sarawak. Travellers can fly from major Malaysian cities or arrive by road from Miri, Sibu, or other Sarawak towns.

Use Grab, taxis, rental cars, or private transfers. A car is helpful for reaching Similajau National Park and attractions outside the city centre.

Stay in the city centre for restaurants and markets, near the waterfront for sea views, or close to the airport for short business or transit stays.
