Mount Aso Crater, Kusasenri, Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, Kurokawa Onsen (Departing from Fukuoka/Kumamoto)

This tour was incredibly satisfying! I came on this trip so suddenly that I didn't have time to research anything, so I hastily booked the tour the night before. The itinerary was so well-planned, and our guide, Aiko-san, was wonderful :) Although there wasn't a Korean-speaking guide, she guided us in English, which made it very comfortable and easy to understand. Next time, I'd love to book the same tour and bring my parents! If I had gone alone, the Shinkansen fare and other transportation costs would have easily exceeded 150,000 won, but I was able to visit all the places I wanted at a reasonable price, which was fantastic.

The meeting points were very convenient, and our tour guide, Xiao Wang, meticulously assisted every tourist. The travel time was long, so four attractions were already plenty, not too many. We had enough time to climb to the top of Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine and take photos. The weather in April is often cloudy and rainy, which made the shrine and forest appear like an enchanting, mystical wonderland. Aso Mountain's entrance was closed due to heavy fog, so we could only view it from a distance at Kusasenri and have our meal there. Our guide, Xiao Wang, provided detailed explanations on how to order and pick up food. Both the white rice and miso soup were all-you-can-eat, and the horse sashimi rice bowl was delicious. Xiao Wang also recommended the milk from Aso Farm. Finally, we arrived at Kurokawa Onsen, where we had enough time to enjoy a foot bath and a beauty bath. After giving us complimentary onsen eggs, Xiao Wang recommended an affordable hot spring for bathing, and 20-30 minutes was sufficient. We also quickly walked through the hot spring town beforehand. Xiao Wang provided everyone with a lot of important information.

My first group tour experience was truly special. Thanks to the tour, I finally got to visit Kusasenri, a place I'd wanted to see for a long time. Our guide, Sun Peng, provided very detailed explanations of each attraction, as well as the unique characteristics and history of Kumamoto. He also helped everyone take photos at each spot 📷, and they all turned out beautifully – I loved them! Every place we visited was genuinely stunning, filled with abundant nature. I highly recommend this one-day tour for solo travelers or anyone who prefers not to drive themselves, as it's very convenient. Although we couldn't get close to Mount Aso due to recent news, the observatory recommended by our guide at Kusasenri offered a breathtaking distant view of Mount Aso and a panoramic overlook of Kusasenri itself. It was absolutely gorgeous! Even though we only stayed for about an hour, it was incredibly worthwhile and definitely worth the walk! 👍

Everything was going very well in this trip. We went to Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine and the experience was magical. After that we went to Mount Aso and we were fortunate to be allowed to go near the crator although there was quite a lot of activity in the crator, Right after we took photos we were told to leave immediately. after that we went for lunch and along the way we saw Mt Kusasenri. We had horse sashimi for lunch and we bought Aso milk which was yummy! Lastly we went to Kurokawa onsen town and the town is so quaint and lovely. We were able to have such great magical time because of our guide who gave us tips along the way of what to do etc. we also enjoyed hard boiled eggs from him too

Whether you're planning a one-day tour of Kyushu or a trip to Kurokawa Onsen, booking this tour is very cost-effective and convenient. The journey to Kurokawa itself is expensive and transportation is not very convenient. Our tour guide, Alex, was super helpful and solved many problems for everyone along the way. He also prepared some detailed PDF introductions to share. He provided explanations in both Chinese and English throughout the trip, so there's absolutely no need to worry. For those traveling to Kurokawa Onsen, he proactively helped arrange hotel pick-up and drop-off. Because we had booked a bus from Kurokawa to Kumamoto in the afternoon, he kept track of our movements and worried that we might miss the bus (since there are only three buses a day). He even waited with us in Kurokawa for a while. Unfortunately, we couldn't see Mount Aso's crater that day, but Alex specially arranged for us to visit a lesser-known scenic spot with hundreds of uniquely shaped topiaries, which was super interesting, and we even saw deer. The biggest reason for booking this tour was to visit Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine to check off the Natsume's Book of Friends location, and I was very satisfied (although it was a bit crowded). The light and shadow were absolutely stunning. The maple leaves at Kurokawa Onsen were truly healing, but there were quite a few bugs. The whole day's itinerary was perfect, just a little rushed, but that's unavoidable considering the long distances.

Guide Sun is really great! He diligently explained the itinerary and introduced Kumamoto's history and everything else along the way. The whole trip was interesting and never dull. Kyushu doesn't usually get snow, but we were lucky enough to encounter it. To avoid disappointing everyone on the day trip, the guide changed the order of the itinerary so we could wait for Mount Aso to open. We were also lucky enough to wait, hence the following pictures. It was really cold with -10 degrees Celsius and strong winds. Protect your ears and neck, and wear a windproof and waterproof jacket. It's best to wear waterproof shoes so your body doesn't get too cold.

Our day trip guide, Mr. Jimmy Liu, was very experienced, friendly, and professional. He thoughtfully introduced important notes, local etiquette, and how to respect local culture and traditions in the car beforehand, and recommended sightseeing routes, allowing us to explore easily after getting off the bus. The day trip route and schedule were very well-planned and controlled. Since we were staying at Kurokawa Onsen that night, Mr. Liu even proactively asked for the hotel address, helped us find the way, and offered to contact the hotel for shuttle service. Considering that the Kyushu Odan Bus from Fukuoka to Kurokawa Onsen is quite expensive, this tour also included visits to a hidden shrine, Mount Aso, and Kusasenri, making it excellent value for money. Super satisfied!

well organized day tour. It's unfortunate that we cant come upclose to.mt aso crater due to recent accident (helip crash) so they take us instead to the beautiful scenery mt. aso mountain range. Good thing we went early and were just our group have the place ourselves. I also notice some passerby w/ car stop for a while to take a a photo of picturesque place. Take note: those who wish to take this tour would be physically prepared because most of the place are so elevated/hilly and take a long walk. Good thing tje weather is nice so i enjoy a lot. plus the tour guide is sooo kind and accomodating whenever we reqiest her to become our photographer. Thank you

Our guide was Daisy and she was the sweetest! She provided so much information about the places and more, what should you buy and where, food recommondation and everything. Kusasenari and Aso Cater Area is wild and windy, Kamishikimi is..out of the world, it's not real and Kurokawa Onsen is beautiful, I highly recommand a short bath time there. This trip is a must and worth every penny.

tour was great and well organized, but best praise should go to our tour guide (ada) because bus was packed with people and itinerary is intense most people speaks mandarin and very few English people attended today, but she managed really well the situations and gives us tips and short cuts. I didn’t feel like a solo traveler at all. she was there for photos and advices.
