Fitzroy Island Day Trip from Cairns

you collect the equipment hire with you before boarding the jet, life jacket was very helpful for non or weak swimmer. you can start snokelling right after you get off the jet. we saw a sea turtle, the water glass boat can be skipped if you are already snorkelling

A simple itinerary allows you to fully enjoy the pristine sanctuary, and if you have time, you can venture further to less crowded beaches, which is incredibly pleasant and comfortable!

nice and fun activity. the guides were very welcoming and friendly! only sad part was that it was quite cloudy on that day and i couldnt get a tan in. for the snorkeling, the corals we saw were literally all dead and we had to constantly adjust our goggles as water kept leaking in despite it already being the tightest setting. very disappointing as i expected to see beautiful corals/fishes but the waters were all murky with filled with dead corals

Nice island getaway with a relaxing vibe We joined a day trip to Fitzroy Island and overall had a nice experience. The boat ride from the marina took about 45 minutes, which was quite manageable. The weather in the days before our trip had been rainy, so the guide let us know in advance that the water might not be very clear. Even so, it was still enjoyable to spend time on the island and go into the water. The beach we were at had corals instead of soft sand, so it was a bit harder and more slippery to walk on, something visitors may want to be prepared for. We still managed to see a few fishes and corals while snorkelling. Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant day trip, especially if you want to enjoy island scenery and spend some time by the water. I’d recommend bringing suitable footwear for the coral beach and managing expectations depending on recent weather conditions.

Great experience onboard and on the island. Best to do a full day tour to ensure you have ample time to enjoy the island and snorkeling. the lunch box was good and enough to enjoy and keep you full throughout the day.

would recommend taking the glass bottom boat to go further out and see more corals :) we spotted turtles as well!

We enjoyed the cruise ride and the glass bottom tour was mind blowing, we saw so many corals, but lunch was not suitable for us. If you’re a vegetarian and from India then I would recommend you to pack your lunch as well.

It's great if the weather is good. There are few people so you can relax. The rental snorkel and suit on the island are very expensive, about $50 for two. I recommend choosing the tour set. I took my time so I didn't end up using them. I received an email at around 6am on the day that the time would be delayed, so we left about an hour late, and we also left an hour late on the way back, so make sure you plan your trip with plenty of time. To get to the nude beach, you have to walk about 20 minutes through the mountains, and you can wear flip-flops, but it may be a bit difficult for small children. The beach is made of coral so your feet will hurt, so be careful. Apparently the jellyfish are already out at the end of October. There are not many restaurants so it's a good idea to bring your own lunch and food. Everything on the island was expensive. But it was a good memory. Thank you.
