You can redeem by scanning the code, which is more convenient and cheaper than the store, but the clerk is still not familiar with the redemption procedure.
Sold out quickly on the official A1 website, but thankfully Klook still had it available, and at a better price! The QR code made it easy to redeem immediately. I bought it yesterday and was able to redeem the physical item today, which was very convenient! Also, the staff were very friendly.
