Penghu Island Hopping: Golden Double Island Hopping

Participating in Klook's 'Penghu Island Hopping: Golden Twin Islands - Hujing Islet (Cat Island) & Tongpan' was truly a fantastic and unforgettable experience! My spirits lifted the moment I boarded the boat. The crew was friendly and professional, and they even had assistance ready for those prone to seasickness, which made everyone feel at ease. Hujing Islet (Cat Island) is simply paradise! There are so many adorable cats on the island; they're friendly and not shy at all. They came right up to us, and we took so many photos our hands were tired! The ocean water was so beautiful it looked like a filter – the clear blue-green bay paired with white sand made for postcard-perfect scenery! Strolling around the island, feeding cats, and gazing at the sea, time flew by. It was completely relaxing and therapeutic. Tongpan offered a different kind of charm. The magnificent basalt columns were incredibly impressive, like works of art carved by nature. The guide's explanations were very detailed, helping us better understand Penghu's geological features. The island-hopping boat schedule was smooth, and they even provided drinks and simple snacks along the way. The service was truly thoughtful. The overall itinerary was comfortable and unhurried, perfect for couples, families, or friends. Sunshine, turquoise seas, cats, and volcanic landscapes – all in one trip! I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to go island hopping in Penghu; it will definitely be one of the best memories of your trip. The day before, a text message notified us that the boat departure would be delayed until 2:50 PM, presumably due to bad weather. Indeed, the sea was very rough that day. Our first stop was Tongpan Island, where we could see a vast expanse of basalt columns behind the island. Since our stay was short (3:20 PM - 4:05 PM), and it was a bit of a walk to the basalt, we just took a few photos and headed back to the boat. Next, we went to Hujing Island. As soon as we disembarked, we saw many cats leisurely sunbathing. Some were very friendly, others preferred to keep their distance, but all were adorable. When you visit Hujing Island, remember to rent a scooter from Lai Lai Fresh Fish, as the island's highest point offers fantastic ocean views. It's a long walk, so a scooter will get you there much faster. There are also quite a few sheep here, making it a great itinerary for a slow-paced experience.

The timing was just right, not too long and not too rushed. The 10-minute boat ride was very short, and the goats were adorable, but it's impossible for people to get close enough to pet them. There were so many cats! The weather today wasn't too hot, and there was a cool breeze, which was really lucky for late August.

Island hopping was pretty good... The sea views all around were beautiful. You might want to bring some cat treats, as the kitties are very friendly.

There's plenty of time at each stop. You can walk around Barrel Islet, and rent a scooter on Tiger Islet. If you forgot to add the scooter rental when booking your trip, you can add it on-site for the same price. Overall, you'll need to set aside about half a day for this!

Cat Island: If you bring your own cat treats, you'll attract many cats and won't know who to feed first. Some cats are friendly and will let you pet them, while others might be aggressive, so be careful. As for Tongpan Island, it's mainly for walking around and sightseeing. It's worth visiting once if you haven't been, but I wouldn't want to go a second time.

A great trip... Although the sun is very strong, the scenery will make you forget your tiredness. There are many goats on Hujing Island...

It's been raining, and the only place to see cats is near Lailai Fish Soup. At Tongpan, you can walk around the entire island, but the wind and rain were too strong, making conditions less than ideal. For Hujing, I recommend taking a car or renting a scooter.
