Pingtung Alangyi Historic Trail: One-Day Hiking Tour

This time we went to the Alangyi Historic Trail (Langjiao Beinan Historic Trail) with the Klook group. Thanks to the enthusiastic driver Tu and two professional guides who led us from Nantian, Daren, Taitung and Xuhai Village, Mudan, Pingtung, to complete the ancient trail hiking and experience the beauty of Taiwan, which left a deep impression!

I took advantage of my vacation to participate in the hiking activity of the Alang Yi Ancient Trail with my family. I walked between the beautiful mountains and the sea. After completing the high-circuit route, I was followed by the rocky section of the coastal trail and was wet by the waves. It was really thrilling. This trip to the ancient road was truly a beautiful and exciting memory.

Due to control issues on Alangyi Ancient Road, the entrance fee is fixed at NT$3,000 and a tour guide will be arranged to accompany you. This itinerary can help you organize a group tour and arrange pick-up and drop-off services from the east gate of Hengchun to the north and south ends of Alangyi Ancient Road, as well as book the Alangyi Park admission procedures on your behalf. I signed up for this event two months ago. I went to the meeting point with a happy mood that day. Slowly, all the people participating in this trip arrived. Everyone was happy to get to know each other and chat happily. The time came to 8:30. At the meeting time, the shuttle bus never showed up. When the time came to 8:35, there was still no sign. I called the shuttle driver, but the phone was turned off. Everyone started to get anxious. I thought to myself that this trip was difficult to arrange. , everyone has finally planned a vacation, will it be canceled like this? Then we started calling the customer service staff. No one answered the first call and we were even more anxious. Fortunately, the customer service staff got through to us later. After understanding the situation, the customer service staff quickly helped us solve the problem. It took about 40 minutes for the car to arrive. He came to connect us so that we can complete the rest of the trip successfully and happily. Although this trip has some flaws and scares, the customer service's post-processing attitude and speed of handling made up for the flaws this time. In the morning, first go to the East Gate to gather, about 5 to 6 hours away, but walking and stopping along the road, so the feet will not be too sore, even if the feet are tired from walking on the stone coast, it is better to wear shoes with hard soles, but there is one place The shoes may soak in the sea water, and the journey will be wet all the way, so it is necessary to bring an extra set of clothes to change, which can be put on the tour bus. The weather was very good that day, and there was no shelter. Bring a little more water. The tour guide will explain some geographical and historical stories along the way, which is a highly recommended itinerary.

It was rare to encounter slightly better weather on 5/9, with relatively little sun. Along the way, there were introductions and reminders of the route, allowing everyone to learn more about Xu Hai’s history (remember the precautions before departure!)

It was a great trip, with two tour guides, one looking after us, and we passed the big wave area safely and completed the whole trip smoothly. The whole trip was full of beautiful scenery, and it was worth it.

It is well worth a visit. From Nantian to Xuhai, there are various terrains and landforms, gravel beach climbing, and a rare experience. Just like the tour guide said that you should come here seven times in your life, and you will definitely come again next time!

Gather at the ancient gate of Hengchun. The driver will take you to the Nantian entrance to meet the tour guide. On the way, you will stop at the FamilyMart Xindaren store. This is the last supply station before entering the ancient road. The driver recommends that everyone buy at least one sports drink + three bottles of water ( I had to listen to the driver, I drank three and a half bottles after walking👍). The ancient trail is not difficult to walk. There is only a hill at the beginning that you have to take the stairs to go up. The scenery looking back from the top is super beautiful! The road after going down the mountain is along the coastline. There is not much shelter, so be sure to pay attention to sun protection and bring a towel to wipe sweat. On the way, I saw people from other groups suffering from heat stroke. Walking along the beautiful Alangyi Ancient Road, the driver will stop at Xu We are waiting for you at Haikou and will take you back to Hengchun~
