Tumpak Sewu and Goa Tetes Waterfall Trekking Experience from Malang

We booked this private tour to visit the famous tumpak sewu and gua tetes waterfall as this is the cheapest option we can find for 2 persons in klook. The timing was perfect as we just arrived in Malang at 6.30am via an overnight train from Yogyakarta. The tour operator contacted us one day prior to confirm the location and pick up time. The driver picked us up at 7am n drove us to tumpak sewu with 2H travel time. When arrived, we were assigned to a local ranger guide called Roin. He was very friendly and had good photography skill. We went to the viewpoint first to see the tumpak sewu waterfall from above. Subsequently, Roin guided us the way to trek to the waterfall and helped us to take various photo n video using both his own iPhone n our phone. He even helped us to carry our bag pack halfway when we were tired. Depending on the days, we were lucky becoz it was a weekday n the waterfall wasn't too crowded. We were able to take pic at various spots without waiting much. We were told that the day before which was a Sunday, the whole place was too crowded, so can't take much photo at a particular spot. Take this into consideration when booking the trip. After the tumpak sewu waterfall, we then went to Gua tetes. The gua tetes was closed for long time as it was very dangerous. We were only able to view the waterfall and the cave at the exterior. The whole journey took around 4 hours including rest time and photography time. It was very tiring n physically demanding. Roin sent us all the photo n video he took, he even went one step ahead to edit short video for us regarding the trip. Overall, very satisfied with his service. Beware that u will be wet during the journey especially when u went near the waterfall. Please wear appropriate clothing n waterproof shoe wear. Can rent water shoe at the area for around IR 20000 if didn't bring. The toilet there cost around IR 3000 per use, no tissue paper provided. The journey back to hotel was around 2 hours as well. The whole day was very tiring but the scenery is definitely worth the effort.

Great experience and everything was planned well so there is nothing to worry about. Our drive Bobby was super friendly and we had a great chat along the way to our destination. He gave us recommendations of local delicacy to try and also explained sights such as Sumeru Volcano during our drive to the waterfall. Once arrived, the local tour guide assigned to us was Roin. Roin was amazing and ensured we were safe. He is super helpful with taking photos too! Overall highly enjoyed our trip and recommend this to anybody considering!

participant need stamina to climb the stairs and the trip involve quite alot of trekking but you will be rewarded with stunning view. waterfall is cooling and refreshing.

A completely unexpected travel experience! The platform arranged a driver to pick us up at the hotel on time. Although his English was not good, he listened to our questions very carefully and tried to answer them. The honest and reliable driver dropped us off at the waterfall entrance and arranged a very enthusiastic local guide to receive and serve us. He explained the route, helped us take care of the children, and helped carry the backpacks. The best thing was that he took a lot of great photos and videos for us with his mobile phone. He also used the break time to edit a beautiful video that was amazing! This excellent trip allows me to recommend their service to my friends!

one of the most adventurous waterfalls Ive ever hiked. bot for the faint of heart and you will get soaked. the cave was super cool too. i would do this over and over again.

Had a overall great experience. Our driver Bobi is very considerate, and also the tour guide boy (don’t know how to spell his name but I thought the pronunciation is similar to “Tale”)is very caring. Anyways, the view worth your effort. Level of difficulty: moderate for a girl who doesn’t exercise very often since it gets extremely slippery sometimes. Tour guide would help you to take great pics and send to you, so even don’t need to bring your own phones. Maybe take some alcohol wipes or other sterilizing stuff in case you get injured.

Trip to tumpak sewu is around 2-2.5hrs. The driver and tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable. The tour guide offered to take a lot of pictures with good angles at the waterfall which is a big plus.

It was a great day thank to our driver Budi and our guide Sunari. They made our trip super comfortable and Tumpak Sewu waterfall is must to see if you are in Malang as it's defently the best waterfall Ive ever seen.
