Reviews summaryAmazing experience - staff were very professional and guide us through the tour and workshop. Retail selection is extensive. However, do note that price is almost the same as Singapore if not lower due to exchange. But the experience is worth spending your purchase. Lunch included was decent and tasted good. The factory is not open on the day we visited which is Hari Raya so didn't get to see the staff in action but they a demonstration setup which is good and informative.
Had a fantastic experience at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre as a solo Malaysian visitor! I was given a tour around the museum by the lovely Yin Hui and she really knew her stuff. She managed to answer all my queries and was able to rattle off specific information from the top of her head in lightning speed haha. The workshop itself was fun to do, I didn't realise it would require alot of bicep/tricep action but the instructors were very encouraging and gave me options on how I wanted the pewter to look like. I was also assisted by Cleeo at the souvenir gift section, and she was very helpful in showing the variety of souvenirs I could purchase & even custom items I could order for corporate events. Also, I did schedule for the shuttle pickup but was unable to go via the shuttle due to other schedule clashes, and the driver was so kind to check on my whereabouts, my apologies for the inconveniences caused. The restaurant/cafe staff were also friendly. Will come back with friends!
We visited on a Saturday. There was a reception desk right in the driveway, and after checking in, we were given a tour guide speaker and toured the showroom. Finally, we went inside the factory and were able to see the pewter manufacturing process up close. Next, in a separate room, we were taught by a teacher and made a tin plate, and were given the plate and an apron made from it. After that, we went to the showroom where the products were sold and were able to purchase various items. I recommend this to people who like factory tours.
Only letdown was the transfer which turned out to be almost non-existent and ended up taking my own transport to the venue. Other than that this was an excellent activity and fun as well. The whole set-up was extremely professional and engaging. The onsite team were all friendly and very accommodating. Lunch also was good! Great activity for all types of travellers.
really enjoyed This . Didn't realize it included a guided tour of the factory and saw pewter being made. The actual bowl making was good fun ,and got to keep the bowl and a gift box and a really nice apron. Definitely worth doing
It was interesting and can complete within 30 mins. Food at the cafe was nice; tour was succinct and interesting have a factory tour too. Recommend if you have time to head down in Kl. Have free 100 plus too.
The driver sent me a message via WhatsApp a few minutes before my selected pick up time to confirm my pick up. The driver, the speaker and the instructors are nice and friendly. The workshops contains everything that is worthy of learning. 😍😉🥰👏❤️
The guides were clear and professional. The workshops were great. Hafiz was my guide during both workshops and he was very professional and kind . He helped me a lot.
Wonderful and good experience. Staff were friendly, food is good.. kids enjoyed it. We get to have the apron and a pewter back home too.: for the other experience, need min age of 15 to join though.
the workshop is simple but fun, good if you’re short of time. there’re no other group when i visited so i was alone at the timeslot, but they still attended me 🥹 you’ll get to bring back the diy bowl in a box, they even packed it in a nice paper bag. u get a certificate and the apron too. WORTH IT. the museum guided tour is nice and interesting! the guide (Yi Ling maybe) even helped me taking pictures. the guided tour is a bit short but i think they allow to explore by yourself too. i wish i had time to explore the museum by myself after the w/shop but need to rush somewhere else 🥲
