What to expect
Wanko soba is a fun eating tradition from Iwate, northern Japan. Small bowls of soba, each containing one mouthful, are served one after another until you're full. At Kurukuru Wanko in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho, the bowls arrive on a revolving lane, letting you eat at your own pace
For 40 minutes, enjoy as many bowls as you like. Customize the flavor with broth, spring onions, wasabi, and tempura crumbs. Stack your empty lacquer bowls and watch your count grow!
No Japanese is required, as English-speaking staff are available daily. The indoor restaurant is just a 1-minute walk from Seibu-Shinjuku Station and 4 minutes from Shinjuku Station, making it a convenient stop, rain or shine

Good to know
- We don't take reservations by phone or in person. Walk-in guests are served in order of arrival. Guests with an online booking are served first at their booked time.
- The broth is made with bonito (not vegan). Halal-friendly: halal-trained staff on site (not halal-certified).
