Reviews
Reviews summaryWe made a reservation in advance and arrived at Mount Cook Airport 45 minutes early. We were participating in the INFLITE helicopter + ski flight itinerary. After entering the lobby, we went directly to the counter on the right to check in, and provided the voucher information to the service staff for review. They quickly found us. After booking the information, your weight will be measured. You are not allowed to bring bags. You can only bring mobile phones and sunglasses. After watching a video on safety instructions, the service staff will tell you the order (seats) of getting on the plane. The total number of seats for a helicopter and the driver is It was No. 7. The ascent was very gentle, with unobstructed views of the valleys and mountains along the way. After about 10-15 minutes of flight, we arrived at the top of the mountain, landed on the snow to take pictures, and then went down the mountain and took a ski plane. At one point during the descent, it felt a bit weightless, and The airflow was shaky and the smell of diesel was very strong, so I felt a little airsick, but we still landed smoothly. It was a great experience!
You must join this tour when you visited Mt cook , you could try both Helicopter and ski plane in one time( Go by Helicopter and return by ski plane or reverse). Very great experience to land the glacier , we could touch and walk on the snow , it’s funny indeed ! experience:
Super worth it guys. you have to do this while you are at Mt Cook. duration is nice enough and you get to explore both heli and ski plane.
must have the glacier landing which I think is the highlight. I don't think ski plane is needed. if I were to do again, I will just do helicopter both ways since it is cheaper and ski plane was just normal. super worth tour!
We originally booked helicopters and snow planes to land on snow-capped mountains and glaciers, but due to bad weather, only helicopters could land on snow-capped mountains. However, klook quickly reimbursed the price difference and provided good service. Helicopter to the snow-capped mountains is an unforgettable experience. You can see the snow-capped mountains and the surrounding beautiful scenery from high altitude. Although the price is a bit expensive, it is worth the price. It is a must-do in New Zealand.
We booked our flight through Klook, including the pick-up and drop-off service at the Hermitage Hotel, and received confirmation directly from INFLITE. The day before our trip, we sent an email to reconfirm the schedule and they replied swiftly. We were assigned a ski plane to the Tasman Glacier and a helicopter for the return. Walking on the glacier with such stunning views was an amazing experience. Luckily, the weather was great and it wasn't too cold. The pilots were very kind and helpful, even taking many photos for us. This is highly recommended if you are staying at Mt. Cook; it’s a breathtaking way to enjoy the mountain scenery!
Although it is not possible to take a snow plane due to weather problems, the experience of helicopter landing on the glacier is also worth it, because there is no need to climb the snow, no need to change equipment, it is easy and simple, and there will be a detailed explanation in English before the activity. If you don’t understand English, there are easy Picture explanation: When we were in the snow, we couldn’t see the rocks because we were intertwined with each other, so our feet were slightly bruised when we stepped on them. Please be careful when walking in the snow.
awesome life experience, definitely recommended. the operator was professional and friendly, checking in at the counter for your flight was easy. this package allows you to experience both the ski plane and heli
Excellent! Awesome experience! Would strongly recommend to others. My family enjoyed it very much. Worth the money spent.
It was a great experience for our family of five, both ski plan and helicopter are something new to us, and the views are amazing! Short landing at valley for photography session was great, and the pilots are friendly too. The only downside was none of us get the chance to sit at the front (next to pilot) as our size are slightly smaller compared to others, so we only get to squeeze at the back. Highly recommended for this package.
