What to expect
Discover the everyday side of Shanghai through a local market visit, a neighborhood walk, and a hands-on cooking experience in a local home.
Start by exploring a traditional Chinese wet market in Xuhui with your host, where locals shop for fresh ingredients and daily meals. Learn how Chinese families choose ingredients before walking through charming residential streets to a local home.
Together, prepare classic Chinese dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, or choose alternatives like Kung Pao Chicken with Dumplings or Soup Wontons. No cooking experience is needed — your host will guide you step by step.
More than a cooking class, this is a chance to experience how Shanghai locals shop, cook, and share food in their daily lives.
