Guide
Yantaishan Scenic Area is located at the northern end of Yantai city, a mountain-sea scenic park surrounded by the sea on three sides. On the mountain, there is a beacon tower built in the Ming Dynasty, from which Yantai got its name, meaning "wolf smoke beacon tower." The scenic area features many beautiful old Western-style buildings. The lighthouse on the mountaintop is a landmark of Yantai; from its observation deck, the coastal scenery and the panoramic view of the city built along the coast are all visible. The scenic area includes attractions such as the lighthouse, beacon tower, Monument to Anti-Japanese Martyrs, Dragon King Temple, Zhonglie Temple, coastal boardwalk, and Lianxin Bridge, as well as numerous old Western-style buildings and exhibition halls like the former consulates of the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark, and Japan. These include the Yantai Port Opening Exhibition Hall, China Peking Opera Art Wax Museum, China Clock Museum, and Bing Xin Memorial Hall.
