The top choice for getting close to elephants, and it's very close to the Old City! The driver was very friendly! We got to interact with the elephants, feed them sugarcane, walk with them, make medicinal balls to aid their digestion (banana, brown sugar, salt, tamarind, bitter melon root, rice bran powder), and bathe them in the river. The entire environment was wonderful; learning about elephants in nature was an amazing experience! The fee also helps support the elephant sanctuary, which makes it feel very worthwhile.
There are no mandatory elephant shows here; all the elephants have been rescued from commercial organizations. In this sanctuary, you can play and bathe with the elephants without any pressure.
The elephant sanctuary was what I looked forward to most when coming to Chiang Mai, and the Lanna Elephant Sanctuary certainly didn't disappoint! The female elephants here are all gentle and friendly. The part where we splashed water on the elephants to bathe them was especially fun; they looked like giant babies rolling around in the mud. There were no forced performances throughout the entire experience, just the most natural interaction between humans and animals, which was incredibly therapeutic.
I'll definitely come back to experience this again. The Lanna Elephant Camp is very kind to the elephants. Even though it was only a half-day tour, you can tell the camp genuinely cares for them.
The elephant camp experience was great, and the Chinese-speaking guide explained everything very clearly. It was quite a good value for the money.
I've already recommended it to friends who are planning to visit. Next time I'm in Chiang Mai, I'd love to come back and see these gentle giants again! The pick-up and drop-off service was also very comfortable.

The itinerary clearly stated an elephant camp in the morning and Sticky Waterfalls in the afternoon. However, when we arrived, we found that they took us to Sticky Waterfalls first, and then to the elephant camp in the afternoon. Also, at Sticky Waterfalls, the driver drove off a short distance even though some people hadn't gotten back on the bus yet. The activities themselves were fun, but the pickup and drop-off service was just average.
