I really, really enjoyed this elephant experience, especially the service from our guide, A! Not only did she explain everything about elephants in great detail, but I could also truly feel her love and care for the elephants. She knows each elephant’s story and personality so well. Having someone like A at the elephant home makes me feel that the elephants here are truly happy and lucky. Also, A’s Chinese is excellent! You can ask her any questions about the elephants, and she will give you very detailed answers. It was such a worthwhile and meaningful experience. I also want to thank Amy for her very thoughtful and considerate pick-up, drop-off, and service throughout the trip.
Today, I participated in the New Elephant Home's morning half-day experience, and it was truly better than I imagined – highly recommended! Our tour guide, Rueang, was incredibly friendly and attentive from the very beginning. He didn't just lead us through the itinerary; he also shared a wealth of knowledge about elephants, making the experience incredibly enriching. He explained the differences between Asian and African elephants in an easy-to-understand way. We even made elephant vitamins, and he thoughtfully advised us to feed the elephants the vitamins first, saving the bananas and pumpkins for later. Sure enough, when we fed them in stages, one elephant took the vitamin and threw it on the ground, just like a picky child. Throughout the entire trip, Rueang quietly looked after every member of our group. When he saw a good spot for photos, he proactively offered to take pictures for us, capturing many precious family moments. Beyond that, he paid attention to warm, thoughtful details, like reminding everyone to be safe, looking out for the elderly and children, and constantly checking in on everyone's well-being, which made the entire journey very relaxed and enjoyable. The elephants here looked healthy and content, and the environment was excellent. When we were washing the elephants, sometimes they didn't want to cooperate, but the mahouts never forced them. The core principle here is respecting and understanding elephants, which helped us better appreciate the importance of conservation. Being able to interact with the elephants up close was a very meaningful experience. If you're looking for a truly elephant-friendly experience in Chiang Mai, I would wholeheartedly recommend New Elephant Home. If you have the chance, I also highly recommend requesting Rueang as your guide; I'm sure you'll create as many wonderful memories as we did. Thank you, Rueang, and thank you, New Elephant Home. This was the most unforgettable day for our family in Chiang Mai! 🐘❤️
I'm very satisfied! The staff here are enthusiastic, and the elephants seem very content. You need to book on Klook at least one day in advance. We tried to book for June 25th after midnight on June 25th, but it was already fully booked, so we had to book for June 26th. We chose the afternoon slot, with departure between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM, which was a good time. The staff's English is excellent, they know some key Chinese phrases, and they are very enthusiastic, constantly guiding the process to ensure everyone has a great experience. First, when we entered and had our meal, we were greeted by Ms. Milk (her Chinese name is Fanghua). She was very kind and even gave us chicken drumsticks. Later, Guide Yu (who looks a lot like Jiang Qiming) led us through the elephant interaction. He first introduced us to some basic characteristics of elephants, like how their pregnancies last two years, which is quite tough. Afterward, we cut sugarcane, made vitamin C balls, fed the elephants, interacted with them, and bathed them. During this, Yu enthusiastically helped us take photos and was eager to learn some Chinese expressions. For example, when Lucky, the six-year-old male elephant (whose nickname is Chou Chou), kissed us, he asked how to say 'kiss' in Chinese. Overall, the experience was fantastic and very engaging and comfortable.
We had an amazing experience at New Elephant Home, and a huge thank you to our tour guide, Beautiful Amy, for making the day so special. Amy was funny, interactive, and made everyone feel comfortable from start to finish. She kept everything running smoothly and made the experience fun, relaxing, and unforgettable. We especially appreciated how she helped capture so many beautiful moments by taking photos throughout the day for everyone. She was also very informative, helpful, and always made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. You can truly feel the love and care this place has for the animals. It was heartwarming to see how happy and well cared for the elephants were. We highly recommend Beautiful Amy and New Elephant Home to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. This was truly a magical experience and one of the highlights of our trip! 🐘💚
We had an incredible time on our Elephant Tour, all thanks to our amazing guide, Dum! He is incredibly friendly, nice, and highly interactive. He kept us engaged and smiling throughout the entire tour.A huge bonus is that Dum speaks both fluent English and Chinese, making communication seamless and easy for everyone. To top it all off, he was kind enough to go out of his way to drop us off right at our preferred stop, the Thai Silk Village, after the tour ended. If you book this tour, definitely ask for Dum—he is the best! guide: Amazing experience with Dum!
Beautiful Amy was such a wonderful blessing as a tour guide. Very kind, communicative, and helpful with any sort of inquiries. The experience would not be as wonderful without her guidance. The elephant sanctuary felt intimate while at the same time respectful of the animals we came to see. The bamboo rafting was a cherry on top, having a smooth ride down the channel. The Sticky Waterfall surpassed my expectations and was prettier than the pictures can make out. The only draw back was that it was quite packed and led to clogged avenues, but if your a confident just walk through. Best for active/mobile as there was a fair amount of steps down and climbing up the falls. 12/10 Well worth the full day experience!
It was very nice to pick up all of us even though each of us stay at different hotels. It is a very close up experience with the elephants. It can been seen that the elephants are well taken care of and not just for tourism purpose. Ing, our guide was very nice and he make sure all of us are well taken care of. The driver drove safely too. The Itinerary was not rushed. The activities are suitable for all ages, highly recommended!
mr poppy is a good guide! his chinese is good, patient, friendly and very informative! the van arrived on time. i dont know why but think its just a coincidence but i ended up with 10 china people, am the only one from malaysia. but luckily my group are all young adults around my age so we get along very well! i have a huge advise for everyone, YOU WILL GET VERY WET. the waterfall might seem not that bad in pictures, but i assure you that you will get very wet, and i suggest wearing swimsuits, or bring change of clothes. don't bring anything when going to the waterfall, your entire body will get soaked. bring ur phone with waterproof bag if needed. but your tour guide will help take photos of you with their phone. you need core strength and some muscles to climb, so if you don't exercise at all, you might have a hard time. elephant area is amazing. they're all well loved and taken care of. such majestic creatures that is worth seeing up close and personal. definitely a must go tour!
The morning pickup was very punctual. After adding us on WeChat in the morning, the staff diligently confirmed if we had boarded the vehicle. Our Chinese tour guide, Poppy, was very humorous and enthusiastic. Concerned about the midday sun, she thoughtfully confirmed with us and moved the bamboo rafting experience to earlier in the morning. During the rafting, there wasn't much tree cover for shade, so if you're sensitive to the sun, you might want to bring a parasol for the raft. Along the way, we could constantly hear birds and insects chirping in the forest, and we were lucky enough to see elephants strolling through the jungle. The new Elephant Home has a wonderful environment, with many elephants, each with its own name. Our guide, Poppy, shared a lot of knowledge about elephants, encouraged us to interact with and feed them, and helped every visitor take photos. The mahouts stay close to the elephants to ensure visitor safety. Some elephants are quite playful and will use their trunks to tease visitors. When approaching the elephants, it's best to check if they are dry. I went to feed an elephant right after it came out of the water, still wet, and it splashed mud and water on my face with its muddy trunk and ears! It was truly exciting to get up close and experience the elephants' leisurely life at the new Elephant Home. In the afternoon, our last stop was the Sticky Waterfalls. The vegetation there is very dense, and the trees are tall, creating a naturally formed jungle waterfall landscape that is incredibly beautiful and spectacular. Because the waterfall is shaded by trees in the forest and the water is cool, it wasn't very hot. My friend and I climbed the waterfall twice, and it was so much fun! This day's experience was excellent, and I highly recommend it if you're planning to visit with family and friends!
Our experience with Klook's Chiang Mai elephant sanctuary, bamboo rafting, and waterfall tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Mr. Poppy, was incredibly enthusiastic and humorous, taking photos and videos for us along the way while sharing lots of professional insights. What touched me the most was Poppy's incredible attention to detail. I was traveling with my parents, who are in their 60s, and I was initially worried they might find it too physically demanding. However, Poppy took such thoughtful care of them throughout the entire trip. Especially during the subsequent waterfall climbing activity, Poppy provided immense support and attentive assistance, allowing my parents to enjoy nature safely and easily. The pickup was perfectly on time, the itinerary was smooth, and the interaction with the elephants was truly meaningful. I am sincerely grateful for Poppy's care, which left our family with perfect memories. I highly recommend this tour!
